So i was wondering, why is it that this game is ruled by auto builds that take 0 skill, when you have skilled professions such as elementalist, engi, mesmer put to the bottom? it seems as though the more you play a skilled build, the weaker you are? i know this due to the fact i play shatter mesmer, i know all there is to this build, shatter combo’s etc, however what gives the right for a spirit ranger to own me down by spamming his auto attack? why should a braindead noob be able to feel superior over me when he could of killed me with his eyes shut, for one i dont understand why anyone would even want to play such a boring build, i play shatter mesmer because you can tell the noobs from the good players with this build people who know their shatter combos and when to use them.

Now this thread isn’t just me QQ’ing i was thinking about what could be fixed? i just think profession mechanics need to be looked at, more options and complexity given to skills and builds, shatter mesmer has a wide vast of things to learn and ways to do it, no cast bars either? i would love to be able dodge a fear, it would make my day, maybe having cast bars that state what skill they’re casting, or an icon to symbolise what sort of attack it is? for example if a automancer, erm i mean necromancer tries to cast a fear, it shows the castbar with a small icon for fear, giving you some sort of chance to dodge it or interrupt it?

I’d like to hear peoples opinions, thank you.

There will always be builds that are more tanky, and builds that are more evasive.

People often correlate tanky with “brainless”, because they rely on passive defense, protection, and things like that.

But there are brainless ways to play any profession. Thieves are very squishy, but you can still do well with certain builds that rely on dodge spam, evasion spam, auto attacks, and stealth.

I noticed you play a warrior. I would argue that warrior is one of the most brainless and OP classes in this game. I think what you are saying is true in a way, especially with spirit rangers, but its also just a case of class bias.

He plays Mesmer in PvP.
But warrior has become a very, very forgiving class with the new healing signet and its longer lasting CCs (coupled with high damage on Hammer).

Should just make everyone play a Ele until they make the rest of the classes more like Ele.

You know where you need a brain, where your attacks are better telegraphed and easier to avoid and require comboing with CC to pull off.

It is due to all the skilled players leaving and not many people are left to play the skilled builds.

Thus we are left with the “face roll” meta that is Guild Wars 2 and, very sadly, will continue to be so as more and more players leave.

With all the real pros leaving 3 months after launch and now the “Pros” of this age are starting to stagger out 1 by 1 we will see ever more face roll and less innovation.

so yeah we lost that one and most of the other team were low lvls

You won that game 495-572. I was honestly surprised you managed to even get in lord range. You over rotated every time. In fact, you left literally no one on mid every time you capped it, and one of your guys just spammed far all day. One of ours did too though so it kind of worked out.

It was pretty much a hotjoin match. BTW except for one guy our whole team was r40-50 iirc. Could be mistaken on that though. Not that rank is even relevant, but whatever.

If you’re not playing to win, don’t complain when you lose.

A warrior laughs at all that condition with berserker’s stance. Also your necros can just as easily return every condition right back at em 3x back to back.

Or like the warrior without mace, healing signet and Berserker Stance.
