I just don’t understand why you allow the players in the tournaments to watch your live stream of the games. You might as well give the players in game hax that they can just see through everything, to know where the enemy is at all times. You want this to be competitive, yet you allow them to watch and listen to your stream while they are playing in the match themselves? Shout caster “O Eggs has snuck around and is making his way for a back cap”….20 seconds later…“OH wow, Noscoc is intercepting him; he is so lucky he happen to notice O Eggs”. Or maybe they are ALL WATCHING the stream while playing and can see and hear everything you are saying. No element of suprise for any team because they all know where the enemy is. Hell, they are even chatting in the Twitch chat box during the matches. Can you find a way to make them not have access to any of that crap while playing? Just seems stupid.

its 1 min delay
its in the esl rules as far as i know. if a player wants to stream esl matches he has to put 1 min delay on it.

there are like 3-5 minute delays on the streams lol

Ya and who told you that? Not true. The streams and the tournaments start at the same exact time. Also when one of them got downed yesterday he instantly jumped into twitch chat to blame it on the other guy that was downed right after him..(not mentioning any names). The chat was as it was happening mid game. I highly doubt there is any delay at all. This happens as well when the Dev’s stream WvW tournaments and kittened off the Servers getting streamed because everyone else knew where their zerg was non stop.

If there was a delay then how come some of the Shoutcasters answer chat questions right when they are asked. Wouldn’t be possible if there was a delay. Chat is instant and if a delay was happening with the “Live stream”, the questions would be loooong off the screen before they say anything.

Well kitten has fought in this tourneys…. I can’t recall ever seeing you in them…. I’d rather take the guy who has real experience word for it.

i was literlaly in this tournament youre talking about and there was a 5 minute delay

So maybe some of the game were….not all are…..That is a guarantee…Nick and Jebro constantly answer questions as they are asked or laugh at comments made in chat. Happening while controlling camera angles and talking about it live. In that case…there is no delay. Maybe sometimes they throw it on there but not always.

You are seriously mistaken. There IS a delay. It may not be 3-5 minutes, but there is one to the point where it doesn’t help a team out. If I push far and the enemy is watching the stream, they’ll see I’m at far way before they hear/see it on the stream. The amount of information gained from watching the stream is extremely minimal.

1 min could sound more reasonable. The questions are getting answered fast and If there is “less chatter” in chat I guess it would still be there for them to see. Maybe it is longer sometimes as well (as stated 5 minutes yesterday). It just seems odd to me when watching Jebro and ChroNick shout cast the events that they were answering questions. Made it look like there was no delay at all. Was just wondering, that’s all. Ty

I can confirm that there is a minimum of one minute delay on all streams by ESL.
