I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.
Can I report someone for ‘verbal abuse’, because he/she wrote something like this?
I wouldn’t even class this as flaming, looks like he just has a really weird sense of humor.

Nah, his last post followed the block.
Can you please explain, why you considers this to be a flame?
From my POV, it just sounds like a curious question “Why do men have women names?”.
What is offensive here? Am I missing something?
Just tell him: “It is a roleplaying game. My ingame character is female, so she has a female name. I am playing a female character because a female character looks better in those armor.” or something like that.

Ye ty, that sounds like a good way of reaction!
Well from my point of view, it was nothing more than a lack of tact. I’ve read far worse.

He is not “flamming” but giving his opinion on what he thinks about men with female names.
@glock.6590: Flaming always tells you about someone’s opinion, just in a very rude way.
Anyway, frow my point of view, in this case it is certainly flaming.

“Flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users, often involving the use of profanity.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming_)
There was nothing in that interaction that implied or suggested anything hostile, or insulting.
They asked a legitimate question. Now if for whatever reason you decided to take offense at the question asked is an entirely different matter, and has nothing to do with the question they asked.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
Well…. he has a good point though.
Anyway, it was not flaming.
The conversation can quite easily be offensive as the user is calling the OP a tranny and that he should get that checked out. That is definitely crossing the line from inquiring to insulting even if it is buried in a legitimate question.
However the real item of concern here is the user’s bad grammar, spelling, and lack of spacing. They definitely should be reported for that.
Always reply “I FARMED YER POTATOES” to people who rage whisper, then proceed to talk about making potato salad with their potatoes.
