PvP daily farm servers= exploitation?
It’s clearly match fixing, which is explicitly against the ToS. Anet is allowing these people to break the rules with no repercussions. Which is pretty indicative of the state of PvP if you ask me.

22. While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.
From the Rules of Conduct.
“Blue wins this time” sure sounds like match fixing to me.

Here’s the thing, there is no rank or ladder board in Hot Join and Custom Arenas. The reward tracks and monetary rewards are already hard capped. The rank points awarded are minimal per match. Last we forget, they are paid for with gold. Now, if a person wanted to, they could easily spam unranked and ranked matches. Just wandering around and lose every match. They’d get the same rank points as a hot join win. An unlimited reward track progress available. The gold cap is much higher per day too. So if someone wanted to really farm, unranked and ranked matches are more profitable. For me, I’d much rather have them tucked away in hot join than in unranked or ranked. Thank you very much….

Cool opinions bro.
Fact: it’s against the ToS.
Period.
Fact: the act of even playing comes with an inherited intent to manipulate the outcome. There’s a reason why legal jargon like this is so vague. So they can pick and chose their battles.
Keep spamming matches bro

The word you’re trying to say is influence.
Influence: the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself.
We influence the fights.
However:
ToS: “Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. "
Manipulate: control or influence (a person or situation) cleverly, unfairly, or unscrupulously.
You’re out of your league.
And if they followed the terms on harassment they wouldn’t barely be able to keep queues under 20 minutes as it is so do you want the ToS followed completely to the letter or do you want spvp to keep the advantages of being the developers favor mode?

By your definitions, then the ToS states that we can only play sPvP stupidly? As we cannot play cleverly, right?
I dont’ find it a big deal, the rewards for practice arena just arn’t good anyway.
You can win every games auto capping, and the rewards is only similar to that of unranked arena.
Obviously the good part is you can do it afking. But there is also a cap to how much you can get everyday.
I do find it cheesy, but not so much of a big deal.

It’s custom matchmaking. The rulings are no different than any other custom matchmaking. The biggest difference is you get credit like any other regular non-rank match.
That doesn’t mean it’s going against the rules, per say. Whether or not Anet wants to change it is up to them

What are you talking about?? The ToS doesn’t say “No botting… except in custom arenas!” “No macro’s… except in custom arenas!”
It’s match fixing. When you say: “It’s blue’s turn to win” and make people abide by that, you are match fixing. Against the ToS. Period.

No, that’s exactly what it is. Going against the rules.
I just wonder, did developers address this issue like ever ? I can’t believe, that anyone can think that this farming pvp matches stuff is not against the rules. They did ban ppl for stuff like selling karma food early game, yet now they don’t even speak what they think of this pvp rank farm (if they did i rly want to see that, because Im digging the forum and looking for it and there is no results).
does it impact the economy ? no ? well, then it is out of Anet’s radar…..

If you suspect a player of botting, then report them.
If you suspect a player of manipulating source code, other players, or network hacking, report them.
This particular game mode is influencing players to play a certain way (as do most game modes) but they’re not manipulating you (the user) or the game (hacking or changing source code) in any way.
So yes, it’s technically NOT going against Anet’s policy. It’s whether or not Anet deems this an issue as far as the reward tracks go.
The only arguments you have is that this gamemode promotes people to bot for the reward track and botting is definitely against the rules. Anyone can join the game and report the 5 afk players within.
Regardless, it’s a very boring process. If baddies prefer this method instead of doing it the easier (and quicker) way then more power to them.

Pure BS. It IS against the ToC, a dev confirmed it a month or 2 ago. It’s match manipulation, no matter how you describe it.
Just because “it’s the server’s rule so it’s fine” no, it’s not. Just because in your household you make a rule that says you can kill whoever you like – you’re still going to jail because of your country’s law, because your house is in the country. Same case, your custom arena is a part of GW2 and match manipulation is forbidden in this game.
On the other hand anet does not bother to ban anyone unless it seriously affects the economy.

Hacking is hacking. Match manipulation is match manipulation. 2 different things.
“In organized sports, match fixing occurs as a match is played to a completely or partially pre-determined result, violating the rules of the game and often the law.”

If you think there is exploit happens somewhere – feel free to report it. And stop telling other people how they should play on their custom servers.

they should remove rewards/rankpoints from hotjoin, problem solved
they should remove rewards/rankpoints from hotjoin, problem solved
And lose transition point between pve and pvp, making pvp die even faster. Brilliant.
And no, pve players not gonna jump straight into arenas.

Here is the thing….They are harming no one. Would you rather have more people that don’t know how to play their daily class in ranked or unranked with you? They are not farming rank points or rewards. The DAILY cap is only 2 tiers? a day on the reward track. Playing ranked or unranked will get you a lot more faster, even if you loose them all.

Rewards are time-based now. These players must be in their match for the same amount of time as any other server. We cannot necessarily stop people from ‘playing’ oddly for their fixed amount of rewards unless it’s an actual exploit.
There’s your official stance.
You should be thankful for farming/dailies maps diverting some of the leechers away from your regular games, without them you’d have even more people AFKing in your games than you see now.

Removing the rewards would still leave hotjoin intact to open the eye for the pve player what fun pvp can be. And when they join unranked/ranked, WOW they get rewards also! wuut
