Hi to all there, people. Let’s share our ideas on how stats should be changed to improve current PvP mechanics. Developers are listening to community and maybe your suggestion would be implanted in game, so let’s make it better


I’ll be first:) . My suggestion would be to give us new stats on PvP gear to outstand crits and condition damage , reducing damage taken by crits and conditions hopefully. Let’s look at current stat’s:

Offensive stats:

  • Power
  • Condition damage (which can’t be reduced in any way)
  • Condition duration
  • Precision (Critical chance)
  • Critical Damage

Defensive stats:

  • Toughness
  • Vitality

Supportive stats:

  • Healing power
  • Boon duration

Special or class specific stats:

  • They can be rather supportive, defensive or offensive.

As we can see: there is almost no choose for defense; as for offense – they can only choose between direct damage (power + crits) and DoTs (power + conditions).
So if we’ll have critical damage and condition damage reduction – we’ll get new interesting combinations, like pure power for offense and variations for defense.

P.S. Of course this needs tons of balancing, but in my opinion that’ll improve PvP mechanics. Thanks.

No, having more stats options would destroy the balance of the game. The game need to stay simple to achieve a good balance.

Doesn’t matter how good the mechanics are, if the game is unbalanced it’s not fun. I’d pick a simple game with good balance over one with 123435465765786868 builds but unbalanced.

They tried to balance the game for months now, and they did a good job so far, the game has the best balance i’ve ever seen in mmos so young. Look at how WoW is doing, the balance is a train wreck, too much Sheet, it’s a nightmare to balance, you might expect a game that has been out for almost a decade, to be balanced, but it’s the opposite.

In GW2 you can pick any class, and and still have at least 2 good builds viable even at the top lvls.
