We all know how we get mails when new LS comes out, how we get mails about dungeons when our character reaches certain level. What striked me odd that (correct me) we don’t really get informed about pvp in game in such manner.
Reading other threads reminded me when i started to play this game and i didn’t even know how to access pvp. Since i started to play this game specifically for pvp i eventually found my way by using google, wiki etc. So basically, the game expects dedication from player if they actually want to pvpbut you literary get bombarded by LS even if you sit afk in LA (vigil keep lol) all day.
Why am i saying all this? We all know how small pvp population is. Given, balance issues, lack of game modes, maps etc. is not helping but i think main reasons are:
- lack of information about pvp in game
- lack of motivation /reward for/in pvp
It was really great that we can finally lv up in pvp but that change should have happend long ago imo (recently i got few players into pvp by telling them about this new feature but majority still don’t know you can lv up in pvp and this shouldn’t be my job to inform them…)
Back to suggestions, i could make a long list but it was done many times so in short:
- a player should receive at least at lv 80 a mail stating how to access pvp and what it is about in short (including examples of rewards players can get there)
- pvp rewards should be equal to wvw rewards, because right now i can pvp in wvw and get way more stuff there… what could it be?
- glory should be replaced with karma
- player should be able to get crafting mats through pvp (salvaging, buying with new currency, topic for discussion)
- i think something similar to mystic coffer could work to add random item drops inklusive very low chance for ascended/precursors
- pvp should have rewards that are only obtainable in pvp (through ranking for example) but usable everywhere (kind of like fractal skins, i can get those only in fractals but can use in pve/wvw/pvp)
Outside of certain issues, i love pvp in this game and i really wish it was more popular like wvw.
