PvP life lessons
why can’t you try playing other professions that you claimed that are easier to play ?
i.e.
warrior
dragon hunter
etc
I suspect you missed my point.

I suspect you missed my point.
i thought this is your point?
I’ve learned that getting angry, frustrated or even caring merely serves the pleasure of some who can jeer and chortle from the safety of the internet.
what i was trying to say, if you played some easier to play but somewhat powerful professions, perhaps the chances of you getting angry, etc could be lower ?
lol just don’t take virtual reality so seriously
its only a mere fraction of what is
I formerly thought that the ANET crew was as passionate as I was about Tyria.
That lead me to unrealistic expectations. This is entertainment business.
If you’ve ever hung around with a “carny” after the show or been involved in a stage production. You know what I mean.

Normally I’d read you’er posts and then just move on. But yeah the long term entertainment value in GW2. From a PvP centric player like myself view. Has decreased soo much over the past 14 months. The entertainment value fell even more, when 30 or more other like minded friends just stopped playing. Then even more, when I figured out, the meaning for GW2.
In response I’ve started to look elsewhere. For what GW2 was not going to give me, that I needed. To no surprise I found them. Now I plays GW2 every so now and then with a completely new mindset. The casual mindset. I am alot less toxic, haven’t been salty towards another player or ANet it’s self in a good while. And I’m now a more healthier gamer. I just had to realize that GW2 was not the only game on the market. Nor am I at all forced to only play one or two games at a time.
But at least I admit it!

Internet (including games) is just like highschool – filled with bunch of “individuals” projecting their insecurities on you. Nobody can offend you if you don’t care about other people.
As far as game goes, i see them as books or movie – a distraction from bleak and pragmatic RL. But it is what it is – a product made to be consumed, nothing more, nothing less.

NOBODY CARES ABOUT MESMER AND ITS STUPID ALACRITY. Honestly, these threads are so mindless; Ventari is still horifically bad and will never be used. Stop complaining just to complain.
Wrong thread xD?

I mean… there is little point in getting mad at it anymore.
It’s been 4ish – 5 years now. Likely A-net doesn’t have the technology or resources to fix their game to the state it should be, and will take forever since they don’t like to work with other companies.
Either way we still have a PvP scene no one wants to watch with a ton of visual noise for the uninvested common viewer despite the e-sports push, on a terrible game type that validates the advantages of broken matchups.
Balance is built around hard counters on such a small pool of viable options, with significantly different learning curves or muscle memory. (also can be punished for switching if you take to long.)
Pros constantly leave, teams have formed and fallen to the point where we don’t 5v5 queue anymore, it took 3 years to even get a ladder, and balance is still just as one sided to the apex predators of the current patch. It would have been better if we restricted switching because then the balance would be forced to change around that, but majority of the player base mains things that have a lot of good or even matchups, and doesn’t suffer as much from counter comping. So look how that turned out.
But again theirs no point getting mad. A-net will shoot themselves in the foot again and more people will stop playing or caring. Eventually we’ll finally get to a point another 5 years later where we have a significantly better game, or the PvP scene will rot and it’ll be their own faults.
They can keep it stable until then, and having a fully customizable character in a game with pvp will hold players. But it’ll never get big until they change either the game type or their standards of balance.
If it really upsets you, try a better PvP game and make GW2 your PvE mmo. Or WvW where logistics matters more than balance.

Aman, It is what it is. I think more and more people. Are starting to finally see it this way as well. It is sad in my mind, but the one silver lining is that. It forced me to explore other games. Which in turn made me at lot less toxic and salty towards GW2’s WvW and PvP mode and players. GW2 to me, is now exactly what you described above. And GW2 is good for it.
But at least I admit it!

You can always tell an Ithilwen post by the emotional undertone of the title

Let’s try not to get personal.
Emotional undertones may be common for OP, but to be fair there is a large population of players who do feel pretty let down in regards to this part of the game.
Some of us are just going to be like “meh, lol A-net. y u do dis?” others will actually get upset. I don’t blame anyone for being vocally salty, we have all invested in this game one way or another. (Unless it’s a l2p or balance issue in which case it should be debated on an critical level.)
