Would be cool if they gave the players a map editor and had some sort of contest to design a new map for pvp

Hi,
pls remove
1. Jumppads
2. Glasspanes
3. Skyhammer
from the pvp map skyhammer.
Also fix the cammera angle on point A and C.
Im sure it will be a great map.
Probably be ezier to delete the map because its too hard for most people to learn/adapt. So they suggest things like above.
It’s already too hard for most people doing just regular conquest mode. Adding glass/jumpad makes their brain melt.
The only exclusive skyhammer stream
They should implement the essences from the festival of the four winds.
I know you don’t like jump pads but the essences are different… More fun!!

Only really bad players shout something like “learn to adapt”. You know why?
The skillfloor for cheesing it on skyhammer is so absurdly low. Its actually so low that the gameplay becomes stale and uninteresting. Comparable to what we would have if we had cheatcodes that made us 1 shot ppl with giant lazerbeams coming out of our behinds.
Its the direct opposite of what we need in GW2 pvp. I started this game with a huge group of some of the best RBG and arena players in Europe. A mix of the old Blacklisted group, ZAO and deeply disturbed….basicly all the top RBGs players in Europe. They all quit due to the lack of depth/shallow nature of GW2s combat. To attract quality pvpers we need to improve that…..skyhammer does the direct opposite: it simplifies gameplay even more.
There is no way to adapt to a “well executed” stealth pull. I havent found a single player who can in the top 100 on US (kek no good players there) or EU.
Skyhammer is an interesting map. It has varied elevations, and lots of different paths between points, which makes a few build types more useful on it than other maps.
It also has some of the worst mechanics possible: falling-to-death, and a secondary objective that is both incredibly powerful (needing to be focused on for the entire match) and in an area that certain classes can fight on *much* more effectively than others.
As supvil says, abusing these mechanics is far too easy, and so the map frustrates many more people than anything used in ranked PvP should.
PvP with varied classes with balance taking into account all aspects of combat (damage, control and support) should never, ever include a map that makes one aspect (control) so much more effective.
Control skills are designed to lock foes down or move them about into more favourable positions - you get kills by dealing damage. That the map makes CC skills effective for securing 0-damage kills is not okay, and *can’t* be okay. Not in GW2 sPvP.

Kirito means you can’t just win every map with same build and same tactic. Today, i had many solo queue matchs which were like 5 squishies against engis warriors and eles, and in situations where opponents were camping 2 points and ignoring the third, we got rolled pretty easily. Is it fun and interesting ? No..
At least, skyhammer and spirit’s watch would offer more chances for bad setups to win
