Just wondering, why doesn’t Anet allow people to run their custom gear in a separate PvP queue?

The stats combination potential is much more interesting with our own gear than when using an amulet that only has 3-4 stats.

Because the more separate queues you put in, the harder it is to get games firing quickly and with decent matchmaking.

Also, they seem to think some gear is simply unsuitable for SPvP-style matches (most conspicuously absent: Dire amulet and Perplexity runes).

You have wvw for that. You say it would be more interesting, while it would allow players to have an advantage over others who do not have as good gear. It’s structured pvp for a reason and I see no point in having yet another queue when the population is quite low. Also, there couldn’t really be any rewards as it wouldn’t be fair to players who cannot afford the best gear.
