PvP placement, ratings are completely broken.
Wait, so you went 10-1? Win/Loss doesn’t affect ranking. MMR does. So if you win a lot of games, but beat low MMR players, your rank will be lower than someone that has a more average W/L, but beats high MMR players

I had a d/c on my team and lost rating, so it’s whatever. I stopped expecting much from ANet in terms of PvP. This system will likely be far better than anything else they’ve done in the long run, though.
The biggest pitfall continues to be class-stacking, which ANet will never do anything about.
1st match isn’t counting for people.
Losses still being recorded when its 4v5 and affecting placement/skill.
Placement ladder says you still have 1 match left after you get your placement (even with that 1st match you played that didn’t count.)Would have went 11-0 for placement if people didn’t D/C and would have more than likely placed top 100 rather than top 250. Literally due to people just d/cing and the match getting thrown.
IMO this system needs to be fixed, and reset for the current season without these garbage bugs that completely affect what would otherwise be a legitimate outcome.
Losing with a disconnected player does not affect your rating, but it does consume a game played. You essentially got to see your placement rating 1 game ‘early’.
Only the leaderboard is missing the games and will be fixed retroactively.
None of these would change the outcome of your placement.

If the match making algorithm is attempting to place a pool of similarly ranked players together before breaking them into teams, why are we not splitting double duo queues onto opposite teams. We are getting 2 duo queues vs 5 solo queues.

Because the duo queue has a rating boost and the matchmaker made the teams as evenly-skilled as possible. We balance this boost around premade winrates. We could split them up regardless of rating, but it would mostly affect perception and the case where duos are probably high skilled players without accurate ratings yet at the beginning of the season.

I would only critizise the assignement to a division based on 10 matches. It will need a couple more to get a proper assessment. As an example: I started my season with 7 losses and hence in bronze. In 1 day, I could make my way up to gold. My “true” division is hence higher than bronze.
I perfectly understand the reasoning and motivation of the devs for making this step. However, I hope that the next seasons will have a more accurate first assessment (e.g. based on the prior season).

That cannot be right. There’s no way that the double duo team was ranked lower than our 5 man solo team and the rating boost made them even to ours.
Either way, that should never happen. If there are two duo queues, then they need to be split if one team would be comprised of all solo queues.

All I know is that no matter what you say, this is the most effective and efficient Season of PvP in GW2. Even when I lose because of an AFK person I don’t get punished as long as I do my part.
I will keep giving feedback each 3 days, but so far so good
Dry your Q__Q
The first assment is always flawed, because the hardcore (and probably good) players accomulate on that day and the causal (bronce?) players come in later – therefore if you rush in on the first day, don#t be suprised if you get a not as well rating, because the average skill is higher as normaly during the season
