Hello,
I am an old GW2 player, having started when the game was released. I don’t profess to be good, or even to be competitive when it comes to PvP; however, there are some glaring issues (in my opinion) with the current PvP system that have never been resolved.
Balance — Any rank of player at any skill level can be teamed with anyone else, which leads to max rank players playing with people who are experimenting with builds and classes, in any game mode.
Different numbers on each team — While I appreciate the fact that there are arena competitive modes for those who are more serious and committed to playing a good game than just messing around, someone can rage quit in a ranked game and almost guarantee their team a loss. This wastes time and energy for all of those involved, and makes it less enjoyable for the other team since they don’t have a challenge. Why can’t an individual join if one quits? Why aren’t there severe penalties for quitting a match? Why isn’t there a reporting feature in game for those who quit often to be held accountable, and why am I unable to choose not to team up with that player in the future?
These are my two biggest problems with PvP in this game. I’m extremely invested in it, and wanted to lend my opinion and the opinions of those I play often with to the discussion.
