Qalifiers finals
@Poxxia: Caed, Sizer and Cnyz belong to the top players of this game. If even they can’t pull off a class something is massively wrong.
There’s no use to tell someone on the same level to “L2P”, but most thieves know that stuff is wrong since June, so these threads get kind of old – but nothing has changed, so it seems as if a reminder now and then is neccessary.
I’d have to know more about pvp to see what exactly went wrong here. I just saw that “We Inspire” had no guardian = no DH traps.
Hey there Jana
I know (of) Sizer and Caed. But I honestly saw a lot of posts by Cynz regarding stuff I knew something about which seemed completely biased. In other words, it is not only a matter of skills, but only expectations about what you should be able to do – and perhaps my understanding is more in line with the likes of Caed. I have not yet seen anything from Sizer regarding his games, so that basically leaves me with Caed, which I have found trustworthy in the past.
Pity Lowell isn’t playing anymore or Jumper – at least we would then have a bigger pool of dedicated thieves to compare with eachother – or Mr.Big who seemed like a guy who had a pretty holistic pov on the game.
So yeah, the pool is small atm, totally agree, but even as unskilled as I am, if we fx took mesmers pre-june (my class back then), it wasn’t like they were useless – they were just very hard to pull of. As I recall it, only 2 did it on the highest level. So what I am saying (asking, really) is: Is it really the only possibility, that the class is weak, or has it just got a lot harder?
PS: I most likely should mention, that I initially DID find Sizer to be decimated pretty badly in those two matches – but as I said: I am not qualified for being too specific about it.

this game is by far no matter of skill, but build > skill, you don’t see?
no one can claim himself to be a good player while playing easy op meta build, the reason why we have “top” teams and these other teams is just about communication and rotation… but “top” players run revenants, druids, reapers and dragon hunters as you see for a reason…

Others have already said it – I said it.
I have a different role in wvw but have the balance of pvp.
It’s nice if decapping is enough for pvp, for wvw it isn’t.
And I know that a lot of the thieves in FP (focusparties – those who kill enemy mesmer, thieves, necros) haven been/are asked to roll mesmer as they’re stronger. My friends get reported for playing D/D thief in pvp – so I don’t really think it’s biased.
And what I tried to tell you in my last post: All of the 3 thieves we have talked about in this thread are on the same level and that’s not my personal opinion but I base it on tournament wins.
Although I have to admit I don’t know too much about Caed.

Its true and not true at same time. For example Nos was running Necro since always, no matter if it was meta or not… obviously you can say Terrormancer was “easy op meta build” but that won’t be right thing to do…
3 top players just said thief is fine, yet people still fail to recognize the l2p issue…?

So Caed is 3 people?

Well if all people and their mother would say thief is OP, Caed would say the contrary. We already know the man.
but they’re a lot stronger
than they will be next year!

There are few exception of course, i was trying to overally explain the situation when i see people say this guy is good, this guy is bad, it really hurts me to see people tend to say good player is the one playing kitten op build. I know people who ran builds which were not claimed to be strongest “meta” in the past, hell i played with some in my team and i know it is possible to win with that, but that is a true masterity and only such people can claim themselves to be truly good players yes..

Hey again
Oh you .. trying to focus on the paper I have to give in – fighting my deadline :P
Oh well: Since the only one we both know is Sizer, and he was the one in question, we are a bit in a dead-end, isn’kitten But never mind that. I trust you with the wins etc. – and your friends experience as well.
If we look at the performance on fx mesmers in ESL, that was approximately on the same level – if not worse. And yet, I have faith in the class. So I don’t find lack of presence to be the final judgement of a class. That is all I am saying.
I got, that you told me, that they are on the same level – but what I said is, that they most likely expect to do different things, and that perceptions affects how they mediate their experience.
/cheers .. and now I do have to work :’( …. sorry …
