Hey, I was watching WoodenPotatoes vid about PvP season 3 a week ago or so, and he said players would continue from their previous divisions when season 3 started, I missed season 2, so started from scratch this season, but was talking to a mate and he said he started from D1 this season too.

Was the idea to continue from previous division scrapped or is it just for people who made diamond or something?
I’m asking because I’m not a great – or even good PvPer (although I’m top of my team often enough) and I feel the skill gap from PvE’rs and PvPers makes the pip system a soul shattering experience. If I have to reset every season I don’t really see any point continuing as I’m only after the backpack. I don’t mind grinding for it, but PvP season has truly been a terrible experience.

Sorry for the rant, hope someone can answer – or weigh in.

Why are you playing PvP if you don’t enjoy it? Do you really think the backpack should be easily obtainable? It’s after all a LEGENDARY item and the greatest final reward for success in PvP.

I’m sorry if you like the skin and this is the only way to get it. I’d like to try raiding on my necromancer, but guess what, I don’t have the viper’s gear that’s considered optimal for my class. Does this bother me? Yes, a little but I have accepted the fact that I will never probably raid since I’m not ready to put in the work to get the Viper’s set.

You should see the legendary backpack as the ultimate reward for good PvP. If you truly want that backpack, take your time with it. There’s not THAT many people yet who even have it and you will still have season 4 to try and complete your achievements. It’s just a game, you shouldn’t be doing something you don’t enjoy in GW2.

Also I dont care about the legendary backpack, I’m just after the Elite backpack skin, WoodenPotatoes vids gave the impression that its relatively achievable if you don’t mind grinding. Now that I know I’ll get a place hold for making it to sapphire it doesn’t seem as daunting.

Oh the elite one is certainly achievable! Keep playing and it’ll come, that one is relatively easy to get. If you feel like you’re getting overwhelmed at the moment, return to ranked next week and the players overwhelming you will be in the higher divisions probably

Don’t worry everyone has to start somewhere, I’m sorry I thought at first you were whining about not getting the legendary backpack easily enough (since there’s already enough people like that on this sub)

It’s only normal that PvP is difficult if you’re not very experienced, you’ll certainly get better if you keep playing. And in my experience, the whole game mode gets more enjoyable once you start to get a grip on it
