I’m curious with glory being removed, what will replace it as incentive to continue with pvp? I’m primarily a PVE player, but I saw that with glory and gold I can purchase the tome of knowledge to level my PvE characters. This for me was a big motivator to actually participate in pvp matches. Will rewards like this still be available after the March patch?

removed already ? i had like 50k, didn’t use them. means wasted ?

They won’t be gone until the 18th of March.

But I’m also curious what the rank rewards will be. Since there’s no more bonus chests to yield skins, the vendors are being removed and the Mystery Coffers are going with them.

Still no word on Glory Boosters or forge mats either.

Relax, you still have a month to accumulate glory. You can even still spend after March 18. The vendor isn’t in a hurry to go anywhere.

I’m confused by the removal of all “random” chests. Does this mean we won’t get chests at all from PvP anymore? It looks like almost all rewards are just being removed completely.

Honestly this confuses me a lot, would love to hear some dev clarification. That blog post was worded really oddly.

I was puzzled as well at first but I think the wording is pretty clear if you read it attentively.

Basically, on March 18th:
- All Rank vendors will be removed
- Glory vendor (added dec 10) will stay but the “Mystery Chest” will be removed.
- Starting then, wins will reward you no glory nor “Tournament Chest Reward” but only rank points.
- They will also add on this date “updated rank rewards”.

Until then, you still can accumulate glory and can spend in however you want. You will be able to spend it until the Glory Rewards Vendor is removed, when their full system is in place. When that will be? Time will tell…

Highly doubt it. My advice would be to spend Glory on whatever you think you might need most. You can collect armor sets, level characters up or get a bunch of 20 slot bags…

well im only rockin the 15 slots now. 4 more levels for the 18s tho

This, really truly this. It makes no sense to me to remove the current reward system until the new one is in place.

I suppose the gold you earn is the replacement for now but this seems premature and less likely to entice people into SPVP and seems to be against the plan (edit: I realise that this is not explicitly “retiring” glory just yet but removing the ability to earn it is kinda shoving it out the door):

Updated Reward System

With gear unification we will also introduce a system that allows players to set goals for rewards in PvP and work towards them. We are not ready to discuss this system in detail yet, as it is still being developed, but more information will come as we get closer to being able to release this system.

Once this new system is in place, glory will be retired as a currency, and gold will be the standard currency across the game. All existing glory vendors will be removed at this time. We will give advance warning when this is coming so you can spend all of your existing glory before that happens.

We definitely need a new livestream that sheds some light on the future on pvp rewards.

It also seems that there will be a gap between the glory removal and the new system that will leave pvp without rewards for some time, which doesn’t help at all..

dev1: PvP is in a bad state.
dev2: Yea it is, but that’s because it doesn’t earn any money like pve does.
dev1: What if we allow players to buy in pvp with gold so pvers with fat wallets can look pro?
dev2: That’s pure genius! But doesn’t that lower the integrity of pvp?
