I was just wondering why immobilize is not considered a control effect, and as such is not removed when using a stun break…

It seems a little illogical to me, but I guess my view on this matter can be somewhat biased since I primarily play Thief and my low HP pool really stands out whenever I get hit with an immobilize.

I think one of the devs mentioned once that they’ll change immobilize so you’d be able to dodge while immobilized. If they’d really implement it that would help matters.

Because you can still control your character, unlike stuns, kd’s etc. where you lose all control over your character, unless you got some instant skills, which are not affected by control effects.

You can still cleanse it. Still cast Withdrawl in the case of a thief specifically. If you are struggling with immob’s, then take that heal and your immobilize problem disappears.

In my opinion immobilize is far more powerful than any stun in this game simply for the fact that you cannot break it without cleanses (Which can be unreliable if you can’t do a full wipe of them). Stuns tend to not last very long in general but immobilizes can last for upwards of 4 seconds (Which more than enough time to go from full to dead).

Immobilization is much stronger that most knockdown skills, and I’d go as far as to say it can be just as strong as a stun+.
The thing is that immobilize usually have much shorter CD than knockdowns as well, and to free yourself you have to use your cleansing skills.
