Why do we lose more skill rating after a loss this season? If I lose, I lose 28 skill rating, if I win, I gain max 22. I’ve never gained more than I’ve lost. The players I’ve played with and against have been close to my MMR as well.

Your rating is actually made up of a rating, rating deviation, and rating volatility. The latter two increase when the season is reset and cause larger swings in rating. Eventually they’ll settle.

Basically after you finish your placements, the rating is pretty much double the loss or gain until a dozen or so matches. It was like that last season too.

Yours is not bad. My gain and loss ratio is 1:5. I win 5 points but lose 20.
Reached platinum and now climbing back down, because I guess not enough players with similar rating. They all get their position and then slack, so fair.
