Guild Wars 2

I know that 160/1000 of the top pvpers are on desolation and it has the greatest concentration of pvpers in eu. I have two questions.

1. Historically what made desolation the go to server for pvp?

2. With megaservers is there still a compelling reason for a pvper to join desolation, or is it the same with any server?

Probably high concentration of players, so an active WvWvW community, which helps when roaming, which in turn helps in PvP a bit…

Or just because people got told that there were spots free in the DesoTS, which in turn led them to go to Desolation…

And with the current megaservers, I do not think there is such a big deal in being in Desolation or Vabbi, unless you do a lot of roaming as well…
