The average queue time listed in the game always seems to be somewhere between 2:00 and 2:30, but I consistently have queue times of 7:00+. This is for me doing either solo or duo queue in unranked arena. I would like someone check to see if this is working correctly, or inform me of what I need to do to get the 2:00 queue time. It’s very frustrating to have to wait this long just to play one game, especially when you will almost certainly be matched up against a 4-5 man pre-made and be at a disadvantage.

You’re probably just having bad luck. It sucks but there’s no way to stop it.

When I play by myself or with good players, the queue time is usually around 7 minutes. If I queue with a few of my friends who aren’t very good at PvP, the queue pops in under 2 minutes. So you’re probably an outlier for your ranking and it’s having trouble matching you.

It’s an average. It’s not the definite queue time. Just a calculated average. Basically, Guy 1 has a queue that pops after 1 minute, Guy 2’s queue pops after 8 minutes and Guy 3’s queue pops in 7 minutes, Guy 4 at 3 min, and lastly Guy 5’s queue pops at 20s. The average will then show up as like 3-4min

anyone with an MMR even slightly larger than the norm get longer queue times, it’s just how it works :/ there have been days where I spend more time in queue than I did actually playing a match

That’s why it’s called an average.

If queue time depends on your MMR, then why don’t they display the average queue time for your MMR? The current system is misleading and provides no information since the 2:00 time estimate is not how long I should expect to be in the queue for.
