Quickness is broken...
I do agree even though most quickness skills have drawbacks.
+50% Animation Speed + a slight longer duration on quickness skills/traits maybe?

In an already bursty PvP environment littered with glass cannon build across all specs, Haste does indeed strike me as the pinnacle.
Burst has a place in PvP….but there’s already plenty of that around without such a hefty ability. I’d gladly surrender my Haste ability as a Thief for something more interesting than…“moar burst”.
Yeah, exactly, my point, i’m fine with burst, but these abilities just offer too much burst and/or utility. Near insta-resses with a hastened character (if they use the cd that way), and when used offensively they can drop anyone in seconds to dangerous levels of health, if they don’t kill them. Yes, many abilities granting quickness have some type of drawback, but its not a significant one to really make one worry.
For precise examples, well, all the typical complaints, which would be met with, loldodge/losnub comments, but its not random spvp that I wonder about it (that place is a messy zergfest for build testing anyhow). Quickness is just far too powerful as it currently stands, and I too am guilty of abusing it to its fullest. I feel we would have more interesting and engaging fights if you take it out of the picture or reduce the benefit significantly. It just offers too much of a guaranteed advantage in its current iteration.
In my opinion quickness should be reworked so that it instead speeds up recharging of skills, say by 30-50% for X seconds. Drop any adverse effects, they’re annoying.
For example, Elixir U would simply read: All skills recharge 30% faster for 5 seconds.
However, this would need to apply to skills currently on CD as well.

No thanks, this would pork the thief as it does not have cooldowns on it’s weapon abilities.
Quickness skills have an amazingly long cooldown (3 minutes I’d say is what the majority has).
I do like me some fast resses though.
Quickness is very strong, that much I agree with. However, after playing PvP for a while, you begin to know to just watch for quickness buff icon and then blow your dodges and kite and then they’ve wasted a long cooldown.
It’s very easy to counter is all I’m saying.

Most are 60 seconds.

It would still apply to utility and healing skills. You may be nerfed in the long run, but some say the burst potential of the thief needs it anyway.
imo yes quickness is OP, its fun seeing yourself go in turbo mode sure, but its just not balanced well
quickness is a bad mechanic that stacks too well with other burst damage strategies. No type of skill should give you a 100% burst damage boost, much less one that stacks with everything else too. It’s totally crazy and really makes you question teh wisdom of the balance people at ArenaNet.

Time warp : 3 min 30 seconds
Quickening Zephyr is 60 though yea.
Those are the only two I really know of other than haste but the single target ones must be around 60 then., which means for a couple seconds of swiftness you can only use that skill so many times per matchup.
Also quickness + insta-stomp = lame. Being down is suppose to add another dimension to the game where you can attempt to recover or allow your allies a chance to rally you.
Having someone pop quickness and stomp you in 500 milliseconds is dumb and there is no counter to that once they’ve started.

Well it also adds to ressing times too (which is really fun to do and very effective) but the actual finisher will be faster than the res I’m sure.
When tPvP becomes more competitive with the release of more content, I expect this conversation to die out fast. I’m already seeing ultra tank/regen builds that are impossible to down with or w/o quickness.
I mean to be honest without this level of quickness burst, that guardian camping mid point will be immovable. Bunker builds are already strong, taking away/nerfing quickness will just stagnate the meta and no one wants that let me tell you.

Then they will most certainly have to speed up the thief sword attacks because are far too slow for a class based around mobility. They also have to remove the self root from pistol whip, again a class built around mobility, might make sense on warrior but not thief.
biggest problem is you have quickness on classes and specs that can kill..
move quickness to shield or staff guardian, and elementalits and remove it from thief, warrior and mezmer.
Yeah, give it to the elementalist and the guardian. That will totally make the situation better.
/sarcasm
i have to agree at things like Thief, quickness is very strong BUT you guys go generalise it. Engineer with quickness? Totally not op. Warrior with quickness? Easily avoid. Ranger with quickness? Pop 1 defensive cooldown instead if having a full glass cannon build yourself.
And dont go tell me this is one of the “yust dodge” posts cause 99% of people is NOT using dodge etc. Efficient and good timed.

My only issue with quickness at the moment is that there is a sigil “sigil of superior rage” I think its called that has a 10% chance when you critical hit to give you quickness for 3 seconds 45 second cooldown, which allows all classes to have a form of quickness, on top of the classes that already give it.
Rangers : -Quickening zephyr (4 sec)
-Zephyr’s speed ( 2 sec every 16 seconds)
-Sigil of rage stacking
