Rallying off people a mile away NEEDS to go.

That’s actually smart, if people could only rally within a reasonably short range then it would add a lot more risk to the game. I guess they really should nerf “rally” by doing this then so the rallybot problem gets alleviated a little bit.

I don’t really like this idea. In a team game, I find normal that rallybots exist. I could object to your proposition that the solution would have been for your team mate to not die. Your team is punished for playing badly.
In addition, for a rally to be effective, both involved players must have stayed in combat since the damage to each other was dealt. So, in a way, even if it is on the other side of the map, it is still the same team fight.
Ask yourself: how many times have you been saved by your mesmer downing a free-casting ranger in under a second, and stomping him before his team mates can get to him? Surely, such skillful plays should be rewarded.

This. If they rallied, they were still in combat, which means their last fight was within reasonably close range or time span.

I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.
Maybe add a small radius visible one, for rally but large so you still have to stomp.
actually more stupid is when you don’t rally even though you attacked enemy in downstate and enemy died… it happens quite often for some reason~

Yep, this. It happens too often actually.
