Man pls bring rangers downstate down to the other classes. Its silly in a duell when the ranger can only win because he has the best downstate(pet who rezzing him).

While I can agree with that, in a 1v1 clutch moment, it can be problematic and is certainly one of the best while Warrior and Necromancer sort of gets shorted of you ask me. But either way, I think Revenant will have one of the more practically best downed states. Their #1 causes “slow”. That’ll be pretty big not only for 1v1 but any scenario.

Ranger downstate 3 should heal for as much as guardian downstate 3.

Rangers are bad, and therefore spend most of their time in downstate, that’s why it’s so good. (dodges the volley of arrows coming his way)

Ranger downstate is hilarious, hardest class to stomp, nearly impossible to AOE cleave down without multiple people, multiple CC when counting pet.

CC does interrupt it. The only thing that doesn’t interrupt the pet channel is Fear to my knowledge.

Seriously it’s a l2p issue. If a warrior is downed first, then the ranger downed afterward, guess who’ll be the one who win lol. Also you can cleave the body like you do to any other classes, especially thief, you can Poison the body so the pet takes way longer to rev, you can CC the pet so the rev interupts.

It’s only powerful in 1v1 downed fights. In practically every other situation, someone can just stomp them once with stability or twice without stability before they even get a chance to pet res, nowhere near as useful as an engineer that can interrupt twice or a thief that can evade a stomp twice.

You can CC the pet sure but it goes right back to where it was and starts rezzing again after its free to act, without ranger even activating 3 a second time. The only way to stop the pet from rezzing for good is to kill it, stomp ranger, or have enough dps between you or your team to finish ranger. At the very least i think if you interrupt the pets heal it should not be able to go back and start healing again until 3 is recharged.

If you and your team are having trouble killing/stomping one guy…. That just says all it needs to in and of itself.

Or you shouldn’t just ignore a down body there like you do to every other classes to buy time. Every class should have different mechanic, and for ranger is if you leave him there, you’re in trouble. Same goes to ele, thief, and mesmer who has to ability to move their own body so they avoid cleaving and stomping and ignore stability.

I’m not having trouble in general, just stating the options. But there are occasions when its clear that ranger will always win the downstate war and you might as well put down your keyboard until respawn. If pet can be interrupted this gives other classes a chance to win in a downstate fight. Currently if you down a ranger. Even if you down him fast and your still alive, if you happened to get downed after its gg assuming your team isn’t involved. Is this really fun and fair when you won the fight before downstates came into play?

Btw what is it with all these kids on the forums that resort to skill or personal attacks because they don’t agree?

Downed ranger with canine pets can be a nightmare. But it’s countered by blind, invuln, and stability. So what’s the problem? This is then one and possibly only perk of having the pet mechanic.

What are you using to interrupt it? I know Fear acts like you mention, but daze and stun actually interrupt it and you can’t use the skill again till off cooldown.

Just as bad as the profession bias tear-down strategies or maybe a better name for it would be “Let’s Cry until Anet drowns Ranger”

But you are posting in the PvP section and they allow for certain level of personal attack as just part of the game mode.

All the interrupts work the same as far as i can tell. Quoted from gw2wiki

“When fighting against a ranger, the only way to completely interrupt this skill once it’s been used is by defeating the ranger or its pet. If you attempt to disable the pet while it’s channeling, it will simply return to its master and resume healing once the disabling effect has expired.”

I know for a fact the Ranger’s #2 downed skill interupts the pet heal and it doesn’t resume healing once the daze wears off.

I know for a fact the Necromancer’s #2 downed skill will cause the pet to flee, but will return and begin healing once it gets back to the Ranger.

Another day, another ranger thread. When will people just leave the poor profession be? xD

Its part of being immature….not part of the game mode. I’m not saying anything else should be nerfed here btw. I’m actually one of the people who don’t and never want ranger longbow to be nerfed even with all the cry lately. I also have and play ranger myself and only making these statement based on what i think would be balanced for the game. The down state is another story however.

My pet always continues rezzing after it got interrupted regardless of which sort of interrupt was used (unless it died of course), and same was true for every enemy ranger pet I interrupted while rezzing.

I’m not the one who went off topic to attack someones skill/team. The kid part was exactly that. Giving you a taste of your own medicine…. Don’t like it? then don’t start it in the first place.

As for going off topic how is 2+ vs a downed anything going to fail that example speaks for itself you are the one who made the choice to take that as an attack, so as before that speaks for itself.
