Ranger is getting another Spirit !
Plz someone with some logic plz explain me this..
Why after all this talk that had been made about Spirit Rangers Anet thought that adding another spirit is the way to go?Didnt we show up the problems that Spirit Rangers had?
Didnt we explain constructively that the petting zoo isnt a good thing for the pvp community?
Didnt we asked for more active playstyle?I seriously need to know what is on Anets mind?
How they thought that this will help Rangers and the pvp meta at all?
Plz tell me that you thought a use of it out of the standar Spirit Build…
Nobody will use this spirit over healing spring.
What’s so hard to understand. Blasts on water field will heal more, people get regen, and the spirit does not clear conditions like healing spring.
Given that healing spring is the only source of condi removal besides empathic bond and signet of renewal, both of those being crappy removals and healing spring being the only decent one, Healing Spring will still be used over spirit.
I know its crappy i dont know why they put so little work on Ranger?
In stream was like " Look this amazing skill that we added on Guardians, let me test it like 100 times..See aint awesome?" " Check this healing on thief with another amulet"
and a boring voice " Y Ranger..yea..Go Ranger..spirit heal..Great you know..Y.. its super..Actually you need 20 points to make it follow you..Y..otherwise you will probably be out of range..actually see..you hitted like 20 hits..to heal you for 800hp..Aint great?..Lets move now to the interesting heals.."
The petting zoo’s wouldnt be so bad if you could actually pet a Spirit.

Doesn’t increase build diversity, at all. As a matter of fact, it only makes the meta’s current Apex Predator build even better, and the build itself is the most hated build in competitive to date, besides any warrior (aka every warrior) running Healing Signet.
Every other class got some sort of utility that added to existing utility lines to make them better, or something to take a role the class currently under-performs at and make it better, except the ranger.
I mean, just give me a trait that let’s me play the game afk already, since the lack of required actions per minute for certain ranger builds (like the most popular meta build) is becoming so low, that I’m not even sure you need both hands to play anymore.

You people complaining of this heal are slow. The people who should be complaining are rangers. They got a heal for a specific build that didn’t need more help AND the heal isn’t even better or nearly as good as what they already HAD. Healing Spring is > Water Spirit.

I don’t use healing spring. Not all spirit rangers use healing spring. It’s initial heal is really weak and heal as one has shorter cd.
I love the idea of getting another spirit as long it has huge health pool. Pls anet, give that spirit a huge health pool so it won’t die quickly from hits. I think it will be better to disable the condition removal from the nature spirit and move it to this potentially useful spirit. All rangers are gonna be happy.
Guys as a ranger since day 1 the spirit with the new changes actually has good use.
It heals quite well for the ranger and instead of heal then regen it is regen then heal. It is also far more mobile than the healing spring. The instant heal therefore is higher for the ranger (not for the group though).
Sure it can’t be blasted thru nor can it remove conditions. But it can be quite useful.
The damage healing spring saves you from conditions removed will far outperform any marginal difference in healing from the other heals.
Hell, if Healing Spring removes immob from you it’s supremely more useful for staying alive than any other heal.
Its not of importance for us. For dungeons and WvW this spirit may seem play because this spirit is about team support more so than any other ranger heal. It gives a measly 80 hp/s to your allies in range and the burst heal is 100 hp/s (ish) for allies. This is the same amount of healing as if someone had 400 healing power and gave out regen. So it terms of a support/team fight its not that great and the only benefit over healing spring is that this is a movable heal that is a burst heal instead of regen tics. Then there is the 1 v 1 aspect which everyone fears. From what I’ve seen of the data mined codes that allow you to see the skills, it seems both ranger AND spirit have a cast time so if you can’t interrupt one of those then shame on you. Since it can also be killed (and has a timer) this heal will be sub par to the others in 1 v 1s.
What makes spirit ranger OP is storm spirit (3k base hits that trigger again on death) not the fact there is AI, it is storm spirit and storm spirit alone making spirit ranger OP. Unless a spirit build using nature’s vengeance, storm spirit and water spirit, to spirit bomb a node to DPS/heal a team (while the spirits don’t get CC’d) becomes a thing I doubt this spirit will see play in a competitive scene.
