Ranger + pvp = nope
How is the damage lower other then the 5% modifiers on Eagle eye gone? Hunter tactics changed from a 10% damage to a 10% critical chance modifier.
Pet attribute bonus base is bugged though they should do more damage.
Ranger is in a better place then before, but the problem is other classes are in a way better place then before.
There are certain bad traits like Most dangerous game, Predators instinct, Honed axes, Enlargment, Natures vengeance. Brutish seals is bad when compared to other classes too.
The biggest issues are bug related or an oversight like OH training range not being made baseline thus making dagger, OH axe, torch pretty bad….

thnx to off-hands trait change dagger is no longer a ninja jolt towards your enemies, but a slugish flop on the floor. And I don’t agree with you on the fact ranger is in a better place. Condition builds with ranger are no longer viable. Zerker gets wiped far to often due to the changes in traits such as “bark skin” what now makes you have higher toughness when your above the fresh hold instead of below. And I agree that pets are buggy right now. And most of the rangers new traits are a bit on the bad side.
Anyway thank-you for your opinion.
grenades engi=bugged
mesmers = tad overkill
thiefs= they went even more glass you need to CC/taunt/fear/protective warden to apply weakness reduce that damage by 33% + 33% from your potection+ 33% from barkskin and 5% from oakheart.
all in two trait line + nature magic (protective ward) they will hit you hard trigger the weakness then you’ll have 71% (without barksin) or 104% damage reduction(withbarkskin above 90%) just remeber to dodge backstab and kite as you normaly would avoid the cloak and dagger combo by opening the gap right after the back stab use LR and find a crate to jump on or a wall hide behind it cut line of sight and what i do is put a spike trap down around the corner just incase he ports to you then spike him down as quick as you can if you have quickness on instintive reactions when he tries to burst you a second time quickness will kick in while he is KD’s from spike trap.
i had a few issues coping with the speed thiefs pump out these attacks but quickly learned preventing the problem in the first place is the best way to avoid these one shot builds.
if this is a pvp matter make sure you have atleast 21k hp running wilderness use a Vitality rune + Power , condi amulet , don’t worry too much about Crit hits make the most out of those opening strikes with WK+LR+muddy terrain and or quicken zypher and since you have fortifying bonds take rampage as one rather than entangle that combined with a potentional double quickness proc.
deffo need the range on off-hand baseline even if its only a extra 60yards or made to 300yards i’d be happy, atm if your crippled you just pretty much spin on the spot, i like the old movement range on it.

dunno I have to admit necros and rangers dont shine as much as others
Thanks for the advice Zenos Osgorma! Ill try it out.
Ankittenyel i’m not to sure about necro, so far all the ones I have come against have been quite insane. But I don’t play necro so can’t really have an opinion on it.
I think necros got some of the largest buffs from the patch. Conditions are insane, and their life force gaining traits are very annoying. They are proving to be some of the hardest professions to take down right now I think.

Their own conditions aren’t very good relative to other classes.
I managed to create some nice Ranger builds for PvP, but they are mainly effective in 1v1 or 2v2. In true teamfights I feel that the Ranger lacks the most.

Yea I am seeing that.
Bunker necro is most certianly a thing.
Minion mancer is kinda silly in low tier.
Lich is back to its 2 shot glory
and those condies..those condies
I feel bad that I deleted my second necro now

You’re right.
But at least when the necro is meatshielding its party w/little outgoing damage they can still transfer conditions, strip boons, convert boons to conditions, teleport, cc, Lich, while having a few life bars to burn through…compared to a Ranger.
