Ranger trait merging and redesigning
Marksmanship needs a complete overhaul in traits simply because power/crit specs aren’tr viable in spvp for the ranger.
The problem is the pet is 30-45% of their damage and specing for power/crit still leaves the ranger crippled since the pet doesn’t receive any buffs. Not to mention most of the rangers weapon skills favor condition specs with the longbow being an exception but sadly the longbow is trash. The greatsword could work if the auto attack didn’t have such poor dmg or if maul’s bleed was replaced with weakness or something.
Unlike going for power/crit..condi does better overall damage for the ranger and so we are limited to two builds that aren’t trash. Even trap ranger atm can’t even compare to some other class specs and of course beastmaster specs just received a huge stealth nerf.
It’s nice that your suggesting trait changes but in reality the devs will never listen to common folk like us and soon a dev will just tell you to move this to the ranger sub forum.

the main thing i really wanted for my ranger is have my greatsword do damage. like, proper damage. it’s got all those cool utility skills, but at the end of the day, it’s a weapon you use to stay alive while waiting for your pet to kill stuff for you.
in other words, i wish that when i used my greatsword, i wasn’t thinking “this is fun, but i could be performing so much better”.
and is it just me, or is maul kind of out of place? it’s a skill that deals a bunch of bleeding… on a weapon that seems much more suited to power.
I am all for improving rangers after the massive pet nerf but shouldnt this thread be in the ranger forum (even if its more pvp related) to get better feedback from your community?

in ranger forum is pure chaos atm, no dev look there.
one dev have post a few weeks ago and flame was start kitten this topic
rest of topics are most qq or even much different topics about different ideas…

for this topic,
some rly nice ideas, but for a working dps ranger they need more to do then just give sigil activation more might and such things.
if i whant try to play a dmg ranger on condi way or dps way, it should be same strong like ele or engin, but that need rly much work for anet to bring ranger damge builds to this level. this whould need huge skill and trait reworks in my mind.
also a big problem is that they think trapper ranger is still viable.
yes it is, but its much more weak on survive and dmg then the other condi builds out here. oh and dont forget much more bad in teamfights like each ranger build atm :/
at this 2 ideas i dont agree:

combine sounds good, but i think the trapper traits are generaly in wrong traitline.
what maybe whould be good, like you said combine them, but its should stay mastertrait, because its in the crit trait line -.-
when i have to go 30 crit only because trapper trait on condi build is just sad,
atm i have do a trapper 20/20/30/0/0 just because spotter now is better and i have more condi duration, the last grandmaster trapper trait is not so important,
so i dont whould like to have the combine in grandmaster :P

this sounds rly good, but whould be rly op if there is no huge cooldown
~30sec or something on this trait then, because if no cooldown i whould take this with my beastmaster and then it whould be all time spike trapps^^
