Several times now I’ve seen rangers completely vanish during a fight for a few seconds in spvp. As far as I know there is nothing that allows for this. How the hell are they doing it!

Just because it is as “far as you know” doesn’t mean you are correct.

If they have a Siamoth (pig) pet they can also find Feathers or Tuft of hair, which allow them to go invis for 3s when used.
Generally if they have a boar type pet out, keep an eye on the ground, because whatever item they dig up you can pick up as well if you’re faster than the ranger.
