Make tournament matches unavailable for those ones who are under rank 20 (rabbits and deers), because it’s really annoying playing with r30s in your team while a r1/2 is trolling. I think you should have a certain rank to play tournaments.

but matchmaking should match rabbit with rabbit and deer with deer and give them no ranking so they can learn the game and dont crash the boards

And then ppl will start complaining of how much hot join mentality exists in tournaments, especially in solo que, since most of the lower ranks won’t really know kitten about tournaments and how to actually play them, because they had to rank up in hotjoins, which is destroying player’s skill(either combat, or map and movement awareness).

This is a terrible idea. Rank is only indicative of how much time you have spent playing not how good you are. I’ve come across many rank 1-20s I’d rather have in my team than some rank 40s I’ve played with.

No. I came from roaming WvW experience so I was preforming very well at level 8 compared to the lvl 20s I faced against at the time. I think anything that discriminates people remotely like HA (rank) doesn’t deserve to exist.

Problem is Tpvp is not all about the killing. It’s about capping nodes, backcapping, etc. So while you can be a skilled ‘fighter’, there’s much more to Tpvp than just that. Which is something lower ranked people most of the time not know of..yet. Which is understandable.

Which is something that you learn from playing tpvp, not from zerging around in hot joins or trying to play intelligently and getting zerged in hot joins, even 5v5 hot joins aren’t very good practice. (even low rating tpvp isn’t very good practice)

Often people will have a better grasp of game controls and be better players starting tpvp at level 5, or lower if they understand the game mechanics, than the people who zerged around hot join for their first 20+ ranks.

^Yes I agree with that. But that shouldn’t come at the cost of a ‘good’ team. But again, this is Anet’s fault. Let’s hope their split is good. And I do hope the fact it takes that long means we’ll get more stuff along with it.

I’m more worried about getting another 4v5 game than I am getting a level 1. Put all the level 1s in backlog to fill the slots for leavers?

Whoa! Rank discrimination? We are really coming back to this? The ranking system in this game means very little. It all just shows off how much time you have spent playing spvp grinding away levels. From personal experiance. I am only a Deer rank, yet I have a solid grip on my class and outplay many people who are r30/40+ ranking means very little. So please, cut the rank discrimination. It is really pointless and pretty shallow when you come to think about it. You simply cannot lock off a part of a game from somebody. Handfulls of very decent players are Rabbit or Deer rank. But that is just my two cents.

Then again… pvp level means literally nothing… just how much grind you have put forth.
