Let’s face it, this icon looks silly and with almost everyone having it, it’s extremely ugly having this icon clutter the screen everywhere you go! I’ve had a few friends comment the same thought (even PvP friends) so I just wanted to suggest this.

Remove the PvP rank icon on nameplates and only have it display in the PvP lobby and PvP matches.

It has grown on me, personally. I like returning to other game modes and having something to show for my work. Just as it is for other nameplate tags like map completion and masteries.

Remember that many people like the things that others come here to complain about, usually more people than those that are against the subject in question.

Despite my liking the badge, I’m sorry you find it an eye-sore.
But what would the game be like if ArenaNet gave people the option to remove any visual they disliked? Oh you don’t like legendary weapon effects? Legendary backpacks too? Nightfury bothers you? Hate the color pink that much, really? PvE players and their map completion? Charr, in general, offend your delicate sensibilities?

I would agree that some things could be toned down, but I can’t support their removal. Each player, who sticks to something long enough, will earn any of the above items and should be proud of them.

After getting diamond im pretty proud of mine. Im not sure id be as happy if it just dissapeared. No matter where I am.

I like the idea because it adds some prestige. After leagues get fixed (hopefully, a system designed to keep your win/loss around 50% isn’t compatible with a league progression system especially if your MMR is high then other high MMR players will choke at a certain point) it’ll be even better.

I kind of like the nameplate. The PvE heroes get to run around with their cool Legendary weapons, map completions and masteries showing. It’s nice to be able to show that you are a PvP monster!

Edit: It also gives you a way to ras them when they fail a Meta: “hey, can we get some more ambers over here!”
