I was around rank 400ish when i stopped doing team pvp due to no team so it dropped to 900ish (i think). Did like 3 games today with few friends, rank skyrocketed back to 400 (wat?). Stopped doing games. Logged back, my rank went up again w/o me even playing o.o…..

Not that i care so much about ranks nor complain but is there some massive movement going on right now? How does it even work? I am curious.

Its all relative to other players too….so if your 400 and dont play and those from 350-400 lose heaps then naturally they’ll drop and you’ll move up =)

Ok I will explain what happens:
There is a thing called “decay”. The way it works is that it temporarily decreases your rating after each hour you don’t play. The amount of rating temporarily decreased increases exponentially for each extra consecutive hour you don’t play.

However, as soon as you come back and play a game, you will get ALL the rating back increased or decreased by the rating you got from the game that you layed when you just got back, depending on whether you won or lost.

It’s great system. This way everyone has to be active if they want to keep their high rank, but also they are not punished in any way if they don’t get to play.

^ this pretty much. MMR makes it that you can get to your old ratings/rank relatively fast.

Watched a part of Teldoos stream last night. He whent from 850 to top 10 in 5-6 games.
