Ranked?
no. old system is terrible.
because season 1 match prediction is kitten.
in season 1, you lose 2 or 3 pips because kitten match prediction says your team should have rekt them.
in season 2, as long as you can get more wins than losses, you will progress.
in season 1, match prediction says kitten you!
also, stop playing “close games” that ended up with your team losing 490+ vs 500+ because in the end, your team still lose.
play to rekt the other team, win with
500 vs 100+
500 vs 200+
500 vs 300+
etc
500 vs 400+ ?? won ?
your team got lucky.
in season 2, you must carry your team to rekt the other team if you wanna progress.
dun bother about “you tried your best but still lost”
500 vs 499, good game? no, you lost! try harder to rekt the other team next time!!!!!!
Season 1 matchmaking was better than season two. Yeah you could grind up but now you can coast up if you get grouped with good players
As for match prediction pitting higher mmr vs. Lower is doing the same thing
i can see your point on loseing alot 2 – 3 pips at a time in season one but my point is Arena net needs to make it so you can have fun Without any stress. They should make it so that if you do well you gain a pip that way people can progress. yeah it will take them longer then someone who always wins but the main point of gw2 is to HAVE FUN. and arena net needs to see this.
okay so maybe dont bring the old system back. but Atleast make it so if someone dose really well then they gain a pip to help them progress. the game should NEVER be about stress of having to carry your team and if someone on your team messes up YOU get punished for it.
thank you for your input

Are you serious about this? 500vs400+ means you had a good matchup.
a point gap of 100+ implies that you never had an equal opponent to begin with.
It means you could just aswell have gotten the pip for free, it means you did not prove any skill, only the lack of such with your enemy.
‘Wrecking’ the opposing team does not by any means make you a good player. It just makes you better than they were.
The only way you can ever prove you deserve to be where you are is by having a challenging matchup and still win.
If you are having 500/200 matchups all up to legendary you may be a good player, but you might as well not be, nobody can tell.
The main problem with the ‘always loose 1’ system is that it keeps players from trying.
If you already know you are loosing the game for sure, that should be an extra incentive to to take the opportunity and fight better players to learn from your mistakes.
Unfortunately it isnt. And people who stop playing just because they cant win will never get any better.
It should at least not cost you a pip if you make it a close game. In return they can remove the ‘no division drop’ rule to make sure nobody gets carried by a single winning streak and cant fall back.
Its also partially a cause for all the toxivity. Nobody likes to feel helpless. Your team might not be able to win, but you might be able to prevent a pip loss.
You and many others have misconstrued MMR hell. It is NOT being a bad player or not knowing how to play or blaming your team mates or falsely blaming the system. It is an actual phenomenon. Your MMR is a number that changes very slowly. It takes a long time to fix. If your MMR is average for you pip range you are placed into matches where the opposing team has a higher MMR than your team 50% of the time. This means you are in a grind similar to last season except for a couple of differences. Firstly you don’t advance pips in the same way. You progress very slowly.
So imagine last season except half of your games the other team is by design stronger than your own team. Half the time you will have team mates that are expecting to lose. It’s a real uphill battle. People who have managed to escape it describe it as torture.
This l2p carry stuff is misunderstanding the issue.
