Although this will never be put in game, I would actually really enjoy it, just like I enjoyed gambling my gold on moa racing back in dragon bash. The real problem is that it would encourage people to throw games in exchange for some on the gold people betting on the other team won and that I am sure Anet would rather have people actually playing their pvp rather than gambling on the result of other people’s matches however fun it would be.

Yeah, don’t see this ever being implemented in game. But you could always implement this via Twitch stream. Make your own little tournament using private arenas. Take a percent of the bets to pay for arena time. If people like it, it could do well and be a popular Twitch show.

It sounds like a lot of fun, I’d definitely watch but I have no idea how you would control the corruption.

You may be able to control the corruption by awarding the winning team with something. You take bets, a percentage of those bets pay to keep the show going, another percentage is rewarded to the winning team, and the remaining amount is paid out to the winning betters.

You can do that in a private arena – make it like the big guys, pay your gladiators, specially the winners – and take some bets.

Maybe make a guild just for the purpose of anouncing those matches – and make even more interesting ones with eg 5 mesmers vs 5 necros – i am sure people would bet on that! Hust make the quote good enough for the teams!
