Ranked is a joke, needs entry reqs.
From the sound of it, you’re hovering around the entry MMR where someone who is new to the system goes.

It doesn’t matter where you rank, you’ll always get the occasional idiots. People who don’t use chat, repeatedly fail to rotate and don’t know when to leave a fight. You get those sort of people at all levels.
You can find me in PvP | I normally answer PMs
I sort of agree with OP. However, I’m not even sure r20 would prevent the type of silliness that goes on in games. I had four games in a row with either double ranger or double mesmer, etc… with only one other person on my teams in those games who had any sorta sustain. Think if there was some autobalancing for comps some of the crappiness of Ranked queue wouldn’t be so bad.

Imho adding req of minimum lvl80, rank 40+ and XXX (100?) wins with class in unranked arena you want to que for ranked would help a bit, many matches are just -leave- worthy if you don’t want try to carry your ‘team’ aka ‘random people running around like headless chickens doing things they shouldn’t do’.
In Smite, to play ranked you have to master X amount of Gods. I think that is a good thing.
I hate to offer exclusionary sounding suggestions, but it’s more key because we don’t have a big playerbase or any league type system in place.
I would think the system would be much improved if Ranked matches were unlocked on a per profession basis, only available when that profession has reached the 200 match Achievement: (Magus, Genius, Paragon, Phantom, Illusionist, Hunter, Shadow, Legionnaire)
I would then support upping the Reward Track & gold contribution for ranked gameplay, as well. This would add a small carrot in front of progressing through PvP, getting the Titles for each profession.

I agree 100%, its bad enough having to play vs premades, and on top also getting players with only 10 games in pvp.
Theres only so much a guy can carry, also depends a lot what time you play, but playerz dying to svanir while we are losing mid and close its just sad.
And yes i say skipp svanir, but there is always some guy that decides 25 points are more important than mid AND THEN THEY GO MID TO FEED.
I actually stop voting for forest and legacy, if you get a new player in such maps you will lose and thats it.

Then we’ll have hotjoin arena’s farming matches to unlock ranked?
If you’re gonna do it then enforce the champion titles. But I guess that’s too much and would destroy the queue times.
Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
Throw out: Hotjoin!
still seeing horribly stacked teams, like 2 necros and 2 thieves, or 2 rangers 2 thieves against a perfectly balanced comp of engie/guard/war/ele/mes (non-premade). it’s ridiculous. I don’t think the matchmaker is doing anything to distribute profs appropriately. it’s a joke.

You should do svanir with your team and only bunker should rush mid to prevent optional cap by enemy team. Killing it as 3 takes like 5 seconds, doing it this way solves many problems, e.g. steal.

This is such a short sighted suggestion I find it hard to believe it came from chaith.
The logic of a player base being small and requiring a gate to play for the leader board makes no sense.
“We’re going to gate you out because our community is too small”
What? You want to limit growing an already small community?
Why? Cuz logic.
Also the suggestion of players needing over 300 hours of pvp matches on a profession before they can play a profession for the leader board is another nonsense notion.
If all the good players are playing in ranked and you have to play unranked how are you going to learn to play against good teams? Also this is again restrictive which is bad for building up numbers in the community.
Edit
Read the 200 part incorrectly. It’s matches not hours. Still restrictive but not nearly as much.

Yeah dunno where you got 300 hours from. Indeed, 200 Matches of any game mode.
Agree to disagree then. What’s happening now:
People new to a profession are being meat-grindered against premade teams. The system usually compensates by throwing a high MMR player or two on the side of the highly disadvantaged side, to even the odds of winning. It’s very often just frustration for everybody. The high MMR players on a team of new players facing premades feel like the universe is conspiring against them, the new players die a horrible death repeatedly, and the premade team is still bored.
That’s why simply brand new players to a profession in the ranked queue may speed up the queue times, but I’m not convinced the matchmaking is functioning well enough for those new players to only fight amongst themselves, and have an enjoyable experience. Starter MMR probably still too high.
My suggestion is just that, anyway. Many other things will likely soon change.

I disagree that there should be any entry requirements. New people should just be matched together.
The issue is that matchmaking is a total fail at the moment.
