Firstly I want to address that I’m not a big when it comes to sPVP (rank:12). Recently my friend got me into getting dailies so I thought hey, this isn’t too bad I get a few tomes and other stuff… but noo!! some people are always there to ruin the experience. I don’t want to start drama but what happen was every time I do unranked match and it doesn’t matter if I lose or win there is this self proclaimed rank lvl80 players who talk really bad stuff on me/friends. How are the new players and people who never done sPVP gonna deal with this thing?? My Suggestion is to add filter like in WvW to not be able to talk in map chat or see enemy player names. There is a block feature that you should use if someone talks to you that way.

Ask how you can improve. Maybe they’ll give you something you can work with then.

Guys. This is a legitimate problem. Honestly, I think there are many who left after one match who potentially could have becomed a PvP main… I was a PvE player, tried PvP and hated it because of the toxic environment. Left after one match and swore I would never try that crap again.

Got convinced by a friend to give it a second try: now PvP main, never looked back.

You can make your own filter already. If someone is being too BM or the entire mapchat is full of AIDS I turn on my damage log tab.

It sounds like you aren’t experience in pvp or learning how your tabs work =p

It’s not.

These kinds of threads pop up a lot, and I say the same thing every time because it’s true. There are quite a few people who act badly in PvP, but there are even more people who don’t. I’m sorry someone was rude to you, Mono.

All you can do is ignore them or block them, and report them if what they say goes far enough to violate the TOS. Make a tab in chat that’s dedicated to the combat log, and switch to it if the entire chat in a match has devolved into insults.

I know being talked to like that is an unpleasant experience, but it’s not going to be norm if you keep playing. I do see these things happen, and it happens way more than it should. But the majority of my matches are still either pleasant or silent.

Sometimes new players need the F words to start listening. I know I heard my share of profanity in my early days. Think of it as getting advice from your drill sergeant. He might be a giant kitten but some useful advice comes out of his mouth from time to time. Not all cursing is undeserved.

Yeah, I’ve gotten good advice from rude people before, albeit rarely. There’s just as much bad advice from the jerks in PvP, imo. This is a game though, not the military. I think all cursing is undeserved. We’re here to have fun. Being cursed at while training to defend a nation isn’t even comparable.

Its part of interacting with other people. No ToS or any other kind of rules will ever be able to prevent people acting…Well… Like they usually act. If someone has a short fuse there is nothing you can do about it. If it annoys someone too much there is the block function. Problem solved (the easier way).

“Hold points don’t zerg around like wvsw chickens”

I think that F words is way less than what they actually deserve…they would have a freakin ton of reports and bans for feeding and playing bad in games like LoL…so i think you’re pretty lucky for just being insulted after all

I don’t know about anyone else, but my drill sargent was super cool. He actually sat us down and told us in the second week, that they are required to yell and be jerks, but he believed that such things were not a good way to teach. He was right, I learned more from him being a normal guy and teacher than any of the instructors acting like kittens.

In any event OP. Ignor it. Haters gonna hate. If you are doing your best, following the chosen strategy, you’ve got nothing to worry about. But also try to improve, learn what you can from those not being kittens and have fun.

Report them for verbal abuse, place them on ignore, and keep on playing.

If you’re only in it for the daily and don’t really care about winning or losing, I’d also suggest looking for one of the daily achievement/rank farming rooms. You can get your dailies done faster, with less grief (usually), and the foul-mouthed idiots in regular games can’t rage about “PvE casuals” screwing up their only form of self validation.

dude, if u want do only daily reward in pvp, just go on hotjoin or in pratice, it is easy in this way
if u run unranked or ranked with a low rank (1-30) and paired with high rank (60-80), ppl will be mad to the MMR system for bad match making , it is just for that

That is what unranked is for.
Hotjoin is just stupid and will push new players from PvP due to the MASSIVE difference in skill level of people per map.

you get those people sometimes, they enter the map solo and then before even the match starts they acting like they are somehow superior and try to boss the rest. Then if you don’t listen to their instructions which half of the time lead the team to fail they go into rage. Well ignore them, and my advice to those people is make a team with your friends and then you can be the boss. I will take advice and listen to anyone who can politely suggest something but never from an idiot who goes into rage and belittle everyone else in the team

Archaon, most players make the same mistakes a few times before actually getting good, so I understand your frustration, but accept that new players can’t really learn in the fire of action. In the best cases, they read their map chat in the end and try to learn their lesson.

I wish that every new player in unranked would watch Backpack’s video on basic rotations. Most basic mistakes can be avoided by just respecting the rules explained in these short twenty minutes. Mono, if you want to get gud, here’s the first step:

Well I mostly play guardian bunker so in the end when there is 3v1 and I go down people blame on me for not getting points or support them…. this is spvp not freaken wvw people zerg a lot its annoying
