If I am repeatedly assigned to a team of people whose average rating is lower than mine, and we predictably lose. does MY rating drop as more than the lower-rated people I was assigned to help?

I don’t believe any official information is out as to whether your rank gain/loss is “softened” if your team’s overall average rank is higher or lower than your own. I would guess not. My guess is that if you are rated 100 and your four teammates are all in the 600s, losing to a team of 300s will still send you down hard.

I was hit pretty hard yesterday (fell some 15%) when getting stuck with at least two rank 9-15 players on my team against r30-45 teams. I think this has something to do with new players winning a few matches and rocketing up in rating only to face true high rated opponents.
