Yeah that soda can is pretty cool, I guess. But look at that UI!

So what? you will be able to choose the map you want or something like that?

With all the threads about disconnects/lag lately I’m going to guess it is a pause feature, and is what you will see while it is enabled (beverage = kick back and relax while the game is paused).

Hopefully a waiting/pause screen while all 10 players load in.

Well. Could be a few things.
1. Simply an interface/UI PvP-overhaul.
2. The ability to vote on maps in queues (after all players have been found).
3. Could be a pause feature, but why would it emphasize a specific map, instead of actually telling people it’s a pause.

Hyping a pause feature would be hilarious. That is literally something for the 30ish people who care about the whole esports thing.

For the vast majority, who just want to have fun, it would do zero for the game and would be a massive waste of resources and just bad management/prioritizing. It is like then they continue to try and push tournaments as if they are features. The interest just isn’t there, you have to build pvp from the bottom up. Look at forum posts, even when there are red posts people aren’t posting in threads about esports, interviews or anything. Yet hundreds and thousands of people are posting in threads about balance, new game modes and skyhammer. This is what their priority should of been from day one. Game modes. An MMO is never ever going to be a self-sustaining esport. It will even never be a seriously taken pvp competitive pvp experience. This is because design decisions for pvp won’t be possible because pve must be considered, and it is pve which funds 99% of this game. Without all the RP players and living story people this game wouldn’t exist, there wouldn’t be an arenanet with hundreds of employees.

So they should instead focus their effort on making a fun and fresh experience. One you can have fun competing against other people without playing the same tired game mode for years.

No new game modes. No new maps. No new balance. No new skills. No new traits (or very few). No new classes. No expansion. How the hell are those pvp veterens still going with this game. I can’t believe people haven’t at least been forced into regular month long breaks seen as there is just nothing new ever. The whole pvp experience is just stale.

That isn’t to say the devs are bad. The devs are awesome. The game is awesome. Very successful. Very good ideas in it. Most people got easily their monies worth. No sub. They have done a great job and continue to do a great job. Just their priorities for pvp are just to suit a minority of basically a handful of people. And its at the expense of the game. Just give up on the esports stuff already and put resources into the actual game. Stop making features designed to support esports. And add new game modes to tournament queue.

I agree 5v5 is becoming boring to play, a lot of them asking for shaves because they cant burst down a bunker (such a one sided).

We need new game mode called 8v8 conquest rated battle. atleast in large scale i have another objective role, to defend a node as a
Thief (glass) when my team act tough and want to become a carry (believe me, i am more useful in large scale combat) and release the
Guild ladder system exclusively.

Oh and put some new gold sink called Tournament tickets cos pros and farmers has a lot of golds and gems, another new thing let
those guild fights on 8guild versus 8guild (the more the merrier) also exclusive on rated 8v8 match only, so that Shoutcasters will be
focus on tactics (its how you Command) and crutches in large scale not in 1v1 individuality skill kitten, heard some rumors NA is superior
in that matter heh.
Come on anet give us (casuals) some love.

They said there’s some things to look forward to coming up next week. Hopefully they’ll reveal more information about the new game mode, and maps. Hopefully.

Next Ready Up is Wednesday, November 26th, at 12PM PST. The upcoming Thursday (11/27) is Thanksgiving in the US, and the studio will be closed on the following Friday.

On the last Ready Up, you mentioned to stay-tuned this week for some updates regarding PvP ( or at least how I interpreted it ). Will that information be distributed through PoI?

I must admit being pretty confused also. English is my 3rd language so I may have misunderstood the message, but weren’t you teasing “something” happening this week ?
