… or at least put the daze on trap trigger instead of when they lay it down (which is instant for some strange reason).

If a DH waits out your two dodges they can instantly kill you with laying down their traps and applying their burst and there’s literally nothing you can do – all your skills are on cooldown from the daze and they waited out your two dodges.

I can deal with the sheer raw damage DHs put out with Bow and traps, but the insta-aoe daze is simply too much.

This is very funny cause the Daze is a giveaway that you have activated a trap, it comes right before the trap activates its effect giving you enough time to dodge…

I think the daze is fine, but it’s a little too spammable. Between the stunbreak trait trap, and the others, you can get a lot of interrupts out and it’s very annoying. Especially when they’re in the middle of downed cleaving with all that cc and aoe. Doesn’t feel healthy imo.

On the flip side, traps are basically all they have. They’re an otherwise weak spec if they don’t have traps how they are currently. They’re far easier to counter in a coordinated team, and for some classes in 1v1.

Because guardians have been out of the meta for so long. Anet felt it was their time to shine and threw them a bone.

Also, everyone was crying about how traps, bow, and even the new virtues weren’t fun so they made them OP as hell. OP is always fun…

Because DH doesn’t need a nerf, but rather rebalance. Traps should be less deadly while his weapon skill should be more threating as long as traps are trained… it’s kinda stupid that players are forced to dodge “passive” (often used before fight) traps instead of “active” attacks.

Agreed, the Daze is IMHO the biggest problem of the traps. Generally the amount of CC that the DH offers is insane, so it can definitely be reduced a bit without making the build obsolete, cuz I think the build is pretty fun. I used to play ranger trapper and got smacked around; DH feels like the ranger trapper should’ve felt. ^^

Nope, without traps DH is still pretty strong, it’s still an upgrade to medi-guard – the new virtues alone make it worth it.
