Remove Dodge Queue Now - Still Bugged!
I support spamming this thread until it’s fixed. This change is on the verge of ruining PvP. I think about quitting every time my heal is interrupted by a queued dodge.
complety agreee that why sometimes it dodge alone!
Aborts my shield block early and wastes a precious dodge after it was needed. Please fix and respond
it’s just very sad when u lose a fight against this new s/d thief coz you’ve wasted the dodge which could make the win.
Brilliant idea this dodge queue. And this queue in general. In their place I would fire the guy who implemented this stupid mechanic right now.

Also think skill queue in general shoulad be disabled… It’s almost worse than mouse smoothening/No free cam..

I play a new build that relies only on immobilizing my target so that the dodge queue will end up interrupting their own heals, wasting their dodges, and set up my burst.
Seriously, why did this even happen?

Been killed a few times today because I use Shelter on my guardian. Being rooted just before attempting dodge roll means death, consistently. It’s not something the player can predict, and punishes the player for properly reacting with dodge roll to expected incoming damage.
Who would ever want to queue up a dodge (a reactionary ability)? This should have been hot fixed by now.

+1 This needs to fixed ASAP, or even looked at to see what the issue is that is causing this.

That’s actually the most funny thing. Try to be as fast as possible to get back on the point, but hell no, this dodge roll is really important.

Mine was deleted because I put capital letters in the title. You are not allowed to draw attention to important issues with Caps Lock.
Another was moved because it suggestion a solution. So it wasn’t a demand and moved to a forum nobody reads.
Due to the nature of this bug, people are understandably, very angry about the topic and this can spark quite a lot of angry posts. Moderators seem to delete these posts because they cannot understand why/don’t care why people are angry.
The last week I’ve had posts on some of my guides removed due to other people removing their comments. I don’t mind other people removing their own comments but when I give an explanation to a commonly asked question and some bad moderator deletes it because it quotes a deleted post I have to question the ability of these moderators.
And to justify this being in the sPvP forum:
This bad bug/design flaw is most apparent in PvP due the generally high understanding of gameplay and the smaller margin for error due to the intelligence of the enemy and the competitiveness of the game type. In PvE this bug may be extremely annoying but you won’t be strongly affected by it, it won’t make playing some dungeons impossible. WvW players haven’t even realized it exists yet, probably due to a lower skill level compared to that of tPvP, so posting it there would not help either. This is a sPv kitten ue and should be treated as such.

Although yes skill queue has been in the game since release, normally you can cancel skills with esc (except instant skills).
Dodge roll queue is new and cannot be cancelled. We do need both to be removed.

Escape is the universal cancel key.
It’s too clunky to use regularly for my taste, I usually prefer things like doubleclick to drop targets and sheath/other options to cancel skills. I don’t enjoy having to move my hand from wasd, that’s the reason I have the regular F skills+swap on mouse. But I’ll use it as a fix for the downstate problem. It’s pretty weird since this is the first time I’ve had problems with the queue in downed state. My problem might be related to these:

We completely understand minimal queuing, but this dodge queue is extremely negative towards promoting good play as it can interrupt your skills and put some of them on full recharge.

yesterday i thought my PC was flipping out because every time i tried to CnD to cure immobilize, i’d just dodge (and get immobilized again). happened like 3 times in a row.

Oh…this explains the bug I encountered the other day. In WvW, I was downed while immobilized or stunned or something. The enemies then finished me off, and an ally ressed me about two minutes. As soon as I was ressed, my character did a dodge roll without me touching the keyboard. And here I thought he was just excited.

I hope sooner truly is sooner…like "in a couple of days’ kind of sooner, because this bug is a show-stopper for me right now. It is the cause of > 75% of my deaths in WvW. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried to heal or block while immobilized, only to dodge out of it, set it on cooldown, and just die.
The day after the big patch, I started noticing the issue, and I spent hours troubleshooting my keyboard and binds trying to figure out what was triggering the dodge. Over the following days, I realized what was happening, and saw it confirmed by others on the forum.
I’d just like to know, was the change that caused this a mistake, and will be reverted to the previous state? Or was it an intentional change with these side effects, and the fix will simply adjust the change to work more like the old way?

I think it’s intended to help hs spamming thieves since their build is so hard to play…you can just press 2 fifteen times regardless of timing always getting a nice smooth hs spam now….and then you die obviously…they just want to level their skill cap with sbow rangers who don’t have to press buttons at all….

I have never played a mmo with this kind of skill queing(at least it wasnt visible), there must be something wrong.
I think that most mmo out there use “dice” for hits and do not having dodge rolls at all.
So… i dont think its something wrong. Its that the game try to be more action oriented and not a Dungeons and Dragons dice rolling clone. After all we have an answer from a dev. Be patient.

We definitely understand that some amount of queueing is necessary. After the emergency fix to dodge roll/immobilize bug queueing, do you think it would be possible to allow the players to control how much queueing they desire? Top-tier players with lightning fast fingers could set the queueing to almost nothing, while the normal setting for new players could be much higher.
With no queue at all the game would play like crap
Imagine spamming the same skill (autoattack if you arent a thief :P ).You would now have to wait time that is based on your laatency in between each attack which would effectively make someone with very low latency having a faster attack rate against a higher latency guy..and to be honest ive seen it in a few games and i think it would be terrible.I think tera is like that cause my archer was firing arrows slower if i was lagging but there have been ages since i played that.Aion was like that too were if i had low latency i could cast with my sorcerer a spell activated by a combo 1 more time than if i was lagging etc (that zapping thing while you had them in air ..forgot all names )

Entirely off-topic. Nobody is talking about the skill queue just the DODGE queue. It interrupts your skills and it’s 100% useless. Nobody wants it and it should be removed.
