I agree. Or if the person is resed, they only get 25% health with all skills on CD for 5s
Down state have its place in pvp but there should be some changes.
- Killing downed player should ress only one person not everyone who hit him
- Ressing speed should not be affected by Quickness or any other way
- Ressing speed must be slower while ressing invulnerable or in stealth
- All classes should have simillar posibilities while downed. Stuff like mist form, teleport or revenge ar too superior to others. Also ranger pet what is capable of overheal damage of multiple ppl should not have place in competetive gameplay.

Down state have its place in pvp but there should be some changes.
- Killing downed player should ress only one person not everyone who hit him
- Ressing speed should not be affected by Quickness or any other way
- Ressing speed must be slower while ressing invulnerable or in stealth
- All classes should have simillar posibilities while downed. Stuff like mist form, teleport or revenge ar too superior to others. Also ranger pet what is capable of overheal damage of multiple ppl should not have place in competetive gameplay.
Except for the last point i agree ranger downed 3 doesnt come up in time anymore+you shouldnt be stomping rangers without stab or move in untill after they used their stun the slow and knockback from revenant is way too OP however

If you go back and look at some of my complaints about the new specs back in beta i had these complaints about the potential upcoming meta. I said what made D/D ele so gross was its ability to have all the boons/speed/dps/condi dmg and it gave nothing up.
I specially complained about scrapper saying they had perma everything. Anet did nothing to that class and actually added more the other classes besides warrior and thief.
Back to the topic which is the down state. Its always been a huge part of team game play. Before this meta and the rev it wasnt a issue it was a L2P issue. Mesmer/rev have made rezzing alot easier for teams and because of it the elite ESL teams cant kill each other in this bunker meta.
That doesnt change the importance of it. Also its a big indicator of skill level for me. For instance if i get downed by the stairs right outside the circle and i have 2 team mates who dont go for the rez i know they probably are either selfish/new/ or not very good at PvP.
Also before the HOT expansion their were support builds that had rezzing as a big factor of the build. Acting like downstate is not a good thing is dumb.
Simply ask anet to fix the stomp bugs, balance classes, etc etc etc.
Asking anet to remove is never the answer being we now dont have 2 PvP maps we use to have and many including myself would at least like to see them in rotation in unranked.

If warriors,thieves,mesmer down skills are messing you up, you might need to practice against other players in 1 vs 1 situations when they are downed.
Like 1 vs 1 with ranger i know he has 1 interupt so i go for the stomp. I know its condi damage so if i have a condi removal skill i use it after the interupt. WHen the pet goes to heal i simply interrupt the pet with a push/pull/knockback/daze/stun and then you finish them.
Or you simply just use stability
I used to like downed state. It brought more strategic play to team fights. Now though, downed state is a minor inconvenience for the downed player’s team in a never-ending battle. Remove downed state or get rid of the invulnerability period and don’t remove conditions upon entering downed state.

Necro and rev have an advantage but no. It would eliminate the teamwork and impact strike wouldn’t be as useful. Tbh downed state makes the game a lot more fun, especially when you get a clutch stomp or revive

Downstate should stay, but there should be down penalty if they’re repeatedly downed and rev.
I’d say thee 2nd time you downed after reved within 2 mins result in -50% downed hp and -200% rev healing speed. The 3rd time you downed within another 2 mins is an instant dead.
That would reduce the endless cheap quickness/block infinite rev scenario .

Disagree entirely. Bunkers excel because of the downed state. When rezzing or stomping you have to survive a lot of damage (well, some of us do…). Glass builds cannot do this easily. Glass builds can knock people down, but finishing them is much harder. If anything, loss of the downed state might cause burstier builds to get an unintended advantage.
That being said, I agree with OP and have been saying this from the start. Downed state never fit well in PvP and does not belong. It stagntates gameplay, makes most outcomes predictable, and makes zerging far too effective by making 1vX’s borderline impossible.

Agreed. This combined with stupid stuff like Well of Precognition and Infuse Light, even cleaving becomes an invalid option. It’s most likely a race between who gets the stabi+quickness stomp or quickness res first. And there’s only so many classes that excel at this.
The Thieves’ new elite would be a breath of fresh air in this meta, too bad thieves are generally viewed as sub-par. Why we also don’t have death penalty is beyond me.
