Remove in-match Glory from Tournaments
Arent the boxes enough incentive to win?
Today I had a match with 4 thieves.
At the start 3 people capped home point.
We ended up losing by 15 points.
We can’t say for certain that the game would’ve gone better if only one had capped home point, but your idea has merit.
Bunkers won’t feel as sad when they finish the game with 10 points.
It’s unclear whether or not it would have an impact on the hotjoin mentality, but it seems like a good start.
You would need to double the glory reward post (rank point reward can remain unchanged) match though, that way everyone is even happier.

The issue which he’s trying to address is not giving rewards for a losing strategy.
Besides, if the box with nothing of value was enough of an incentive to win we wouldn’t have this problem.

agree – just standardize the glory something like 100 points on the board = 50-60 glory. so a win would be 250-300 glory.
people pump out hundreds of good ideas on the forums, but they haven’t implemented even 1%, why is this? it really makes me sad the potential being wasted

The scoring system is ill thought out and supports bad play.
Tournaments are supposed to be about winning at all costs. Yet I’ve seen some people stupidly remain at a point to cap it when there’s already someone there thereby wasting their abilities to the detriment of the team to get the +10 glory bonus.
Award glory only on match win – you can give something to the losing team as well depending on how badly they were beaten.
Basically incentivize the goal of winning the match. Not in-game capping.
Said this like 4 months ago….and ppl started whining cause they want to farm honor even losing……already lost all hopes that time….here ppl can just get to high ranks losing or farming hotjoin all day (Like all those 60+ actually do)…..gw1 HA fame i miss you so much.. *tear

B) Everyone knows it and those who can change it don’t have the resources to do so.
This is why tournaments have become hotjoins.
Learn to carry your teams Adapt to different situations.

theyd have to fix this first, but we can see there not gonna do much anytime soon, even though this thread has the right idea, just it would be shooting them in the foot even more, at this time.

Agree, Node defenders gain low amounts of glory while roaming thieves get a lot even if they dont cap.

It shouldn’t exist in hotjoins either, the scoring system is idiotic full stop, winning should award signifcantly more than losing.

As tournaments should award significantly more than zerg-join. Broken reward-system from the beginning and continuing after release of the 1v1 paid tournaments.
