Remove scoreboard. It’s worse than when people’s rank were visible. At least that was relevant back in the golden age when not everybody was dragon.

It just encourages randoms to brag about being better because they got higher score.

Personal cores don’t tell the story. The people who think they do just delude themselves anyways. So it doesn’t matter if they remove it or not.

What’s harmful about the scoreboard is that you can be the team MVP and yet, have the lowest score. Leading some players to counter productive behaviors.

Scoreboard gives players a false feeling of being good lots times because it’s difficult to understand for many people that farming NPC’s doesn’t mean you’re skilled. Should they remove it? No. But they should rework it, they should show kills and deaths, too. Deaths would be pretty interesting I believe.

Consider it from a new players perspective. They’re simply doing what the game tells them is a good thing to do because it gives them points. It’s not their fault ANet is completely misleading them.

Strangely enough this is some rather low hanging fruit that could be fixed relatively easily. The fact that ANet straight up refuses to do it shows how little they understand the competitive side of their game. My feeling is that the Devs haven’t done anything competitive since they quit T-ball.

Exactly.
It encourages bad behaviour.
It encourages idiotic gameplay because a person who doesn’t really understand how the game works will think that most score=best player.

Like killing npcs in forest! “Hey man it gives 25 points and a buff to all stats!”
