I don’t want to play Raid on the Capricorn. I just don’t! The map is awful. Nobody likes it. At the late evening hours, every time we go to this map, most players quit the server and join another one.

And when i leave it, when i click “play now” you put me back on the same map. Forcing things doesn’t help anybody, my dudes! Don’t do that mistake.

You had some rotating thingi in the beta. Just implement it so people can ignore the map and play normal games.

The map itself is fine. It’s just the issue of the sharks.

Get Ruins, put Guardian on the Ruins, win.

In the future, you will be able to play on custom servers that exclude that map. I think you’re right about many people not liking the map. Even the developers don’t think it’s a tournament viable map which is why it’s not in the rotation.

For now, we just need to deal with it and not take it very seriously. Personally, when I’m playing on that map, I just ignore objectives and play as selfishly as possible (which can occasionally be fun).

Underwater is fine, but yes sharks definitely ruin it. It’s a PVP match, why are there uncontrolled PVE elements involved?

I’m with gkaare when it comes to playing this map. I dont even go into the water, I just play selfishly. Win or lose, I don’t care with this map. The quicker the better.

What is up with the sharks. There are just too many of them. Maybe just lower the number of sharks.

I don’t like underwater combat, but I think this map is okay it just has too many sharks.

I too hate this map. Underwater combat is a pain. Thiefs have an OP ability that makes it imposible to beat them. I know,. I have a thief an always defend the ruins.

I love this map, every map got a catch that makes it fun to play in, in this case that catch is the sharks and maybe the cannon that some people actually load and use. Thief aren’t un-killable underwater…I have killed plenty of them.

Oh and don’t forget you can kill thekittensharks…they are true glass cannons.

when the pvp servers crash and all the map rotations are reset so all you can join is 200+ raid on the crapicorns, i go get a drink rather than join :X

the main problem is you cannot stake a guy underwater which is stupid. you also cant HIT them when they’re floating on the surface. in combination it takes way way too long to kill anybody.

I think its fine. The problem is that it just comes up way too often with there only being 4 maps atm. We may as well be playing 2fort 24/7 on TF2 if we avoid stages we hate. Oh, no one works my trebuchet, I hate Kyhlo. Oh, Warriors keep sniping my forest boss, I hate Nifhel. Oh, my lord keeps getting zerged, I hate… That place.

Arenanet: sometimes different is bad,especially when it’s not a brilliant idea (in this case not even a decent one IMO).In PvP people just want to kill people,remember that please.

Not a big fan of the PvE elements of the maps myself. Underwater combat in a map, fine, but getting piled up on by 4-5 sharks all hitting and critting for 1-2k each whoever gets that point and holds it is pretty much guaranteed a win with everyone else just zerging back and forth from the other 2 points. Not a big fan of the whole race to 350 then zerg rush enemy lord for the win either. The kill svanir and chieftan every so often when they spawn isn’t to bad considering it is only 25 points a kill and the games usually only last long enough for them to be killed 3-4 times.

I would be cool with the map if the sharks weren’t all Jaws himself and swarm me like a pack of frenzied hyenas every time I got my foot wet:(. I like the underwater elements cause it breaks up some of the monotony, but ATM these steroid sharks are just ruthless and makes the combat feel very clustered!

yeh its definitely has some terrible implementation right now. M

  • sharks control the flow of the match too much. Reduce damage and add a control mechanic such as a cripple. It also makes no sense that your invulnerable to them when on the surface of the water.
  • Underwater skills are the least balanced
  • Traiting is usually done for on land combat, just as your weapons and utilities swap so should these.
  • large number of utilities blocked out, there should be underwater replacements otherwise it is far less diverse
  • Finishing mechanic needed urgently
  • underwater skills available on the surface of the water.

To be honest this is the best possible option. It’d make this essentially a better Kyhlo in which whoever controls mid controls the cannons.

I find this map promotes the zerg mentality more so than others as well, everything about it is not fun.

Also, if you’re on the side with the beach and you go to defend from your spawn (going up the hill and jumping down to the point) any pet you have decides its best to run all the way around, through the water, under the ship, and up to the beach.

The docks side doesn’t have this problem. (Pet is just teleported down to where you jumped)

Underwater combat is broken. Spam the thief spear 5 ability and you have 100% uptime on evasion.

I hate this map so much!

1.Too small and cluttered with things
2.Sharks are way too strong and ruins once taken you can’t take it back alone in a 1v1 situation because yes you guessed it,sharks and the enemy won’t die in the next two minutes.
3.Low on hp?np jump in the water the enemy can’t stomp you there

Underwater combat is a non-viable s/tPvP route, IMO – for the things mentioned and some that I’m not about to go into here. The only way to save a map like Raid on the Capricorn is to make the underwater node on the ship deck instead. I actually like the layout and art of the map, but I also refuse to play the objective on it. If the center node were on the deck of the ship, rather than underwater, I would actually participate.

I really like the PvE elements. Fighting the enemy at thier base as they try to beat us off is a lot of fun.
