What the title says. Just applying a single boon can completely shut down all of a player’s damage.

The physical equivalent would be Aegis, but that blocks a single attack. CC is blocked by stability, which blocks a single instance per stack. Resistance just nullifies the conditions completely. If it worked similarly to the other two, it would be more reasonable, and more rewarding to use it with good timing.

For example, you watch a ranger put down their spike trap: you pop resistance and walk onto it, negating 10,000 bleed damage.

Thoughts?

Life doesn’t give me lemons anymore, not after what happened last time.

Resistance is fine, in my opinion. It doesn’t destroy the conditions, so it is already weaker than cleansing.

It’s equivalent would be invulnerability – you are immune to ALL physical damage but still take ticks from conditions applied before you went invuln. Ditto with stuff like blurred frenzy and other evades.

The boon itself is fine, the problem is that Revenants can have access to it permanently if they take mallyx and corruption trait line. It is then equivalent to having diamond skin regardless of health %. That is too strong.

It’s equivalent would be invulnerability – you are immune to ALL physical damage but still take ticks from conditions applied before you went invuln. Ditto with stuff like blurred frenzy and other evades.

You’re also immune to having any additional conditions or CC applied to you. Its actual equivalent is signet of stone.

There isn’t nearly enough boon hate in the game in general, the kind that really punishes players for spamming and running specs built around them. Necro has it and Rev has a little. The rest is just boon removal which just works well against rarely applied boons like stability, but other boons get reapplied quickly.

If Warrior got some nice anti-boon abilities I think it might find better place in pvp. (inb4 ele/guard players come in and complain about their boon reliance, as if they aren’t strong enough already)

That sounds good on paper, until you realize that Mallyx has no stun break, and one gap closer that cost a lot of energy. (Actually unless you plan on auto attacking the entire fight there isn’t really a thing as perma resistance).
Though people generally don’t take mallyx since it was nerfed.
