Returning Player with some questions
1. They are actually in a really good spot. I am not an engi main, but the most popular build is the HGH. In higher levels of play, you may want to consider going to the intothemists.com forums and looking up the top team builds (it should be pinned and I’d link it but I’m at work)
2. BM Ranger is the most popular build atm. You can also look at the pro player builds similarly on the intothemists.com forum thread.
3. Warrior and Necro are on the lowest tier but all classes can still be used (cept maybe warrior) in higher levels of play except builds are somewhat limited still. If you want to play pro with all classes cept warrior, you will be able to but you may have to conform to certain builds. If you want variety, that will probably come later with much anticipated balances coming in.
4. It depends on how motivated you are. There are resources and many lists of people looking for players and players looking for teams. Use them and get one together. Although most players want flexible and experienced players atm.

Others can correct me, but afaik it’s:
1. HGH elixir builds with might stacking and duration, and grenades, usually.
2. Yes, beastmaster builds are very hard to kill and they’re still good roamers.
3. Warriors UP, Necros slightly UP, and Guard/Mesm slightly OP. But overall pretty good.
4. Hard. The gap between new teams and established teams is huge. Newer teams seem intimidated to sign up for tournaments because they don’t want to get owned. Also they don’t want to look bad in public. And there’s no automated tournaments yet. These will get better when customs go out of beta and accessible to everyone though. Now even those favor the established teams by giving custom arena starters to people that were already in a good position with QPs and all.
Thanks for the quick responses, I appreciate it. I’ll look into what you guys told me
Thanks After playing LoL for such a long time it’s nice to see a community where at least some people are helpful
4- I would say is night impossible, regardless whether you can get a team or not, the tournament scene for GW2 is none existent. So if you are looking at GW2 for a sort of professional gamer approach, i would say look elsewhere.

^Tournament scene is none existent?? Tournaments are being organised since CA/SM are in beta. It’s a start.
Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
Throw out: Hotjoin!

Thus none existent. When and if they are established and popular, like GW1 was, like SC is or as the absolute king of Esport LOL is. Then we can talk again.
I said “professional”, if you are looking for something sort of professional for GW2, there just isnt, plain and simple.
If he is looking to take up something just for the sake of taking it up and make it competitive, well yeah sure, he might as well do the same on farmville for what it matters.

1.) Great spot
2.) Excellent spot
3.) Pretty good, general consensus is that it’s the best it’s been in GW2 yet, though some still think that’s pretty bad. Great balance for an MMORPG, but not comparable to game centered wholly around PvP, I guess.
4.) Pretty easy, I would say, mostly because you can have cross-world teams. You should look into joining the “Gee Dubya Esports Subreddit” guild.
Here is a great source for builds in the last tournament: http://forums.intothemists.com/index.php?/topic/46-top-gw2-tournament-builds/
