Now, with that out of the way…
I have high hopes for Stronghold. I loathed most capture maps. I prefer actual objectives like escorting an NPC or siege machinery, and taking down doors, or the secondary objectives in moost conquest maps.
I kind of wish there was a setting to disable the capture points for custom arenas.
So, if you do something like putting WvW keeps in front of each other and make 6 paths between them, 3 on the open and 3 obscured by terrain, landscape and structures, and make it so you can capture some point to get some siege NPC that walks to the doors to take them down then storm the enemy base, we start cooking something.

It doesn’t need to be terribly complicated. If they made a 3-4 lane map with about 5 objective points like the BetaClone maps from GW then it could be outstanding.
Here’s to hoping Izzy can be retrieved from mothballs to share his insights from GvG’s past.

It’s not decided yet. They’ve been testing it with 5v5 at the moment, but we’ll be able to beta test it in about 6-7 weeks from now. They’ll make the final decision based on the feedback.
You’ll be able to run it up to 10v10 on custom arenas.
Might be interesting to stage 4 teams against each other, kinda like in GW1 HA.
