Guild Wars 2

I have just returned to Guild Wars 2 after being interested by the new expansion announcement and after being kind of underwhelmed with what mmo gaming has to offer right now for quite a while and have decided to give it another go since Gw1 was undoubtedly my favorite game of all time. However, the PvE in this game doesn’t interest me at all I am only interested in the PvP aspects. So I was wondering how leveling a character purely through PvP works and how I go about gearing up my character and staying competitive as I level. Will I be at a disadvantage at first? Will I be able to get runes? What’s the best PvP mode to start out in? I have a couple of characters I made when I bought the game that got birthday presents so I can boost my characters up to 20 if that will help me start, and I have a bit of gold saved up as well for gearing if I need to do that.
