There are only a handfull of skills in this game which currently grant invulnerability http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Invulnerability

2 of them are from an elementalist and it really hurts to use mistform now. I tried running different things with these changes such as armor of earth and glyph of renewal, armor of earth usually only backfires against me cause of necro’s, thiefs and mesmers boonstripping, and it has a 90 second cooldown, the glyph cast time takes about as long as a stomp animation, if not longer so it’s really hard to time.

I honestly don’t understand this change, sure invulnerability is strong but it shouldn’t get such drastic changes. Mistform already got nerfed in the past by making it so we can’t cast skills while inside it. As an elementalist you are basicly forced to go glasscannon now if you want to do enough burst to overcome the regen abilities of other classes. Especially against warriors it’s extremely hard to deal some counter pressure while dodging his stuns and main damage. Mist form helped me A LOT with this. 3 seconds of invulnerability while defending a point is a huge deal, in those 3 seconds I can get water back up and hold on the point for a bit longer.

Most of the skills make you unable to do anything while being invulnerable, so what is the big deal here? Focus was already barely used by an elementalist and now got even more nerfed into the ground.

There are other abilities that grant almost the same effect as invulnerability and yet they don’t get the same treatment. Just please revert it back.

Level 80 Elementalist, experienced player in pvp, trying out pve for now.

everyone knows they overnerfed ele in every single way and defensive utility cooldowns are a joke, but I also think that short invulns that belong to a characters mechanic should not prevent capture point progeression. Everytime you would use earth 5 on ele focus it´s a freecap…

You can’t counter an Invuln. (which is probably why MF previously helped you so much in holding/capping points). So if you can’t counter the Invuln then you can’t counter their ability to cap/hold a point. It was made this way for all classes, and anything that gives invulnerability (remember the abused Svanir runes from about 10 months ago?)

This has nothing to do with Ele’s, and has everything to do with healthy counter-play.

I can understand the perspective, although I feel it unfairly singles out 1-2 classes and some of their key survivability skills. Sure, mes/thief are hurt by the stealth no-cap thing, but stealth is spammable, whereas invulns are rare. This really just makes it more impossible for ele to ever bunker, and further nerfs an already garbage skill like mistform.

I’d rather they make it not 100% invuln, or change on a per-skill basis so that somebody could compete with the wide variety of blocks, heals, and aegis skills available to a guard.

I guess they want heavy professions to dominate.
