The Balthazar reward path took me about ~13 hours of yoloq and yoloing in teamq.

I would assume about a 50% win rate.

What did I receive? 8 obi-shards, 2 Mystic Clovers, and an ugly skin.

1.) I’m actually loving the obi-shards. I can’t complain too much about them

2.) Mystic Clovers… TWO!? for ~13 hours of game play. To get the 77 would take near 600 hours to get 77 if all others paths give the same. In PvE you can farm what you need(including karma) in less than 30 hours.

3.) The ugly skin sold for 60g. Like I have no words.

4.) I did receive a few t6 mats, nowhere near whats achievable in PvE, but still nice I guess.

But, yeah, Anet… 600 hours to get 77 Mystic Clovers is a little extreme. Though, it is nice finally being rewarded for a part of the game I enjoy rather than doing mindless farming.

I’m still laughing about getting 60g for that skin though.

i thought that backpiece would be account bound… wtf
wheres even the purpose in making this reward track and a backpiece that u can ONLY aquire by doing pvp if you can also buy it from the trading post?!?!?

we want account bound skins !!

the reward tracks in general are okay..
transmutation charges and all that stuff on the way that so many players oversee…
i like it!

Now you are GUARANTEED two of these every time you complete a track that have them (the regional seems to have them and they are repeatable).

These are for PvP players, not for PvE-players that want a faster/easier way.

Why is it not account bound? You can only get one as the track is not repeatable so if you earn it and sell it, you’ll never get another without buying it from someone else o.o

And yet with these ones you completely bypass the RNG that people have been whining about since release.

I’m kinda at a loss at learning this. This was supposed to be THE PvP-specific skin, but apparently any PvE/WvW player with a bit of extra gold can get this faster than most PvPers will.

And yea, it’s 60g now, but you can expect that price to drop FAST. As someone who often has limited time to play PvP, this will probably be something I can buy for a few gold before I can earn it from the PvP achievement. So sad…

Noting that the first reward track open is Arah (?!) and it only seems to take 40 wins to obtain a full set of Arah dungeon gear, I have to wonder, is there any attempt at equalizing the amount of time spent in Dungeons to equal the amount of time it now takes in PvP to earn a full dungeon set? 40 wins in PvP does not take nearly as much time as the 30+ Arah runs it takes to earn the same rewards. Handing out the armor that dungeon runners have spent months organizing and running for in just a fraction of the time to a section of the game that was never meant to have cross-over is insulting.

So at what point will the dungeons be updated to where I can earn PvP rewards for a fraction of the time investment that it would actually take in PvP? I’d like to wear that fancy new Balthazaar skin and have the Dragon finisher, and don’t care to actually put forth any time or effort into the game mode it was intended to be earned in. Since they’re handing out the most prestigious PvE skins to PvP players, what is the PvE side getting out of it other than having to spend more time doing vastly more time-consuming game modes for the same rewards?

If you want to get more angry about it, it took less time to get Arah before the glory was removed. Like less than 10 matches assuming you win and are lucky.

It’s not a full set of Arah gear, despite what the track says. I just finished the reward track last night and all the box contained was a single piece. After spending several minutes feeling somewhat cheated, I settled on the heavy helmet :/

You can only do 2 major steps in all tracks per day in hot join. Solo queue and team queue is not capped.

The dungeon reward tracks seem fine.

Based on what I’ve completed so far and read about the Arah dungeon track, here are the rewards (some extrapolation):
- 1 armor piece selection (180 to 330 dungeon tokens each)
- 3 weapon selections (290 to 390 dungeon tokens each)
- 240 dungeon tokens
- 4 tomes of knowledge
- 4 transmute charges
- 4 champion loot boxes
- 8 veteran loot boxes (masterwork and rare mostly)
- 20 basic loot boxes (basic, fine, masterwork)

20 tPvP wins is enough to finish a dungeon track. If you have around a 50% win rate, I believe that’s about 30 games. Let’s say a game lasts10-15 minutes each. A dungeon path with an average group takes 10-15 minutes; the same amount of time. Let’s ignore PvE token diminishing returns. 30 runs is 1800 tokens. In PvP, you’ve earned on average around 1400 tokens (buying 2h weapons and chest piece would put you at 1740 tokens). That’s not too far off and totally ignores diminishing returns for repeating the same dungeon path. PvP players would have also received at least one large rank-up chest and all the coin from win/loss rewards. And those 4 transmute charges are worth about 10g.

I haven’t done the Balthazar track or the Kryta track. But I think the Balthazar backpiece is supposed to be equivalent to Light of Dwayna or Shadow Grenth, both of which cost easily over 250g and other assorted materials to craft in addition to 500 crafting. So the intermediate rewards are less.

Are you just here to whine? I doubt “most people” have every dungeon armor and weapon unlocked. In fact, I doubt many people have more than one dungeon set unlocked. If you do the story mode, it unlocks the dungeon track to do any time, repeatable.

I must have opened over a thousand myster coffers + match reward chests and I was still missing the Orrian Hammer and Heavy Orrian Boots. So there’s still people that PvP’ed a lot and don’t have a full set.

And even if you have the full set, you can use the exotic item stats for an alt or just salvage it.

And what did you excpet actually ? Get a precursor while playing 13 hrs of pvp ? all 77 clovers ? Legendary weapon is not an objective for 25 days. Or 2 months. Or 3. Some people play this game since release and they still do not have their legendary. I suppose that you recived about 70g max for these rewards.
13 hours to get 70g. Avrege cost of legendary is.. 1700 gold ?
1700/70~24
24*13=315
So you need 315 hours (13 days) to get get 1700 gold. Congratulations~!

This is made for pvp players that play pvp every day to get extra rewards…..it is not meant to be mindlessly grinded by pve players in order to get skins or mats….if you want arah skins or w/e go do arah and let pvp players enjoy their pvp.

And most of those probably haven’t even run most of the dungeons.

I’ll reply to the OP and skip the rest of the thread

I just finished the Arah track(didn’t bother with the balthazar yet) and got:
– ~5-8 of the leveling tomes
– 240 Arah dungeon tokens(every 2nd tier you get 1 chest containing 60 tokens)
– 3 chests containing ANY of the Arah weapons, with their specific stat combos(Zerk, Rabid, Knights)
– 1 chest containing ANY piece of any of the Arah armor sets with their specific stat combos
– a rather large number of arah chests(I suppose each dungeon track has some chests named after the dungeon)/champion chests containing a large number materials between T2 and T7 and a large number of skill scrolls
– 1 of the champion chests (long live RNG) dropped an ascended weapon chest with the apothecary stat combo

with these said, I don’t think the rewards are bad at all, perhaps the Balthazar track was done for the launch of the reward track feature, but the dungeon tacks at least do have fairly good rewards – 3 Arah weapons, 1 armor and 240 tokens would sum up to nearly 1000 tokens, done in 2-3 days of casual play, that can’t be that bad considering that Arah is not really a walk in the park.

While I think PvPer’s got completely shafted when it came to the old PvP rewards (materials and glory), moving forward I think these rewards are pretty sweet.

I’m actually able to level up another character in PvE/WvW now without having to do the INSANELY boring PvE that I would have had to do otherwise. I’m making way more money than before, and I’ve gotten 2 ascended items! I never had ascended items until now. I didn’t even know they had ascended armor in the game. I can imagine if you have all that stuff already the rewards suck. But considering I’ve been poor since this games release because I play so much PvP and no PvE or WvW I really like all this money I’m starting to accumulate. It also looks like I’m going to be able to gear up my new level 80 necro with arah gear just by getting those reward chests and tokens, something I would have never done. I might even play WvW more often because I will actually have decent gear in the near future.

I really hope they make the tracks bend with the new story stuff, so I can get the cool skins they normally had only for PvE players, or perhaps totally unique PvP ones.
