Guild Wars 2

So I decided to record the last couple of games I had before I made it in the top 25 for solo que. I know leaderboards ranking don’t really mean much, but I still had a goal of getting there. I tried to leave out any “ownage” game play, and put long and nice group fight clips. They might not be the best clips, but I feel they are decent.

So here’s some solo que tpvp gameplay from a dps guard point of view.

Congrats. Really enjoyed the vid, a non-cheese spec and the gameplay wasn’t ’I chased someone running at 50% hp for the kill’ or ‘team zerged someone 20 ranks lower than myself’

8.5/10.

Although it did make me rage watching how bad sword 3 still is on guardians. Please, for the love of God, fix it so that it actually hits

great vid! though i don’t know how you can stand Litany of Wrath
you have to do around 35,000 damage during the 6 second window to get litany to heal for similar values to the signet :P

i really, really, REALLY wanted Litany to be a great heal for aggressive play, but its just so underperforming.

again though great vid, and bonus points for the creativity in your builds

Always felt that med guardian were dangerous (their drawback is the low mobility, but against meleers or on points they are really BRUTAL XD)… next time I’ll give another try to GS.

It doesn’t give you has much damage as a typical med build. However it’ll give you far better sustain, which is why I enjoy it.

The build you link has GS/Staff, but the 2nd part of the vid is S/Focus and M/Torch?

Road to top 25 in solo queue is run is run cheesy skyhammer builds on skyhammer (20%), and play intelligently with a decent build; preferably a class that can do damage and sit on a point if needed (i.e. warrior)

Well I use a lot of different weapons. The build is still the same.

GS/Staff is great for team fights because of the aoe damage and support it brings.

GS/S+F is great for sustain damage.

S+F/M+T is for more burst damage.

Ugh I guess I really should churn out 25 SPs.. I really wanted to try Littany of Wrath since I’m traited the same way as you for Meditations (Fury+heal and -20% recharge).

By the way, don’t you feel sword #3 is absolute crap? It feels similar to GS #2 with the silly magical projectiles. I will definitely pick up staff and try to replace it

There are a number of reasons why I choose Litany. Shortest CD and another source of Fury. It’s not a bad heal if you can get your damage off.
