I wanted to ask, which is the best solo/roamer class, not taking into account thief, which i don’t like.
I usually play support and i want to have another option

Tbh Thief/DD is THE best roamer class due to their mobility. What should be asked is what is the next best roamer… which would be mesmer imo.

mesmer…. rev to extend but they are more of a team fighter/bruiser

Necro with the right build it roams thru all classes pretty easily.

I have 3 necro friends (1 at least mained it for 2+ years) and he states that necro is too slow and easily ganked/kited to be a good roamer class.

Any truth to this?

That’s new to me being on necro for about 3 years now as main. I wouldn’t play it if it wasn’t good. If they say slow and easily kited then they have build issues. I seem to kite and spike just about everyone 1v1 lol.

You run DPS, Condi or Hybrid? I am actually intrigued as Necro/Reaper is one class that I rarely lose to (Ive lost to maybe a handful due to either I screwed something up or it was a condi reaper that forced out my utilities and endurance so I had nothing left)

Power dps. Range and close combat I can melt Squishies down with just axe or gs if they want it up close. I’m always down to give my builds out but like gw1 I always ask to never respeak it or it’s over used and nerfed. Hit me in game or here if you want to try nec out.

Necro as a roamer? Do you even know what a roamer is?

The worst thing for a roaming class is having non-roaming classes think they are roamers. It totally throws off rotations and puts your team at a huge disadvantage in team fights. I’ve lost so many matches because of guards and necros who thought they should be roaming over the thief or mesmer.

Necro is the worst roamer… mesmer and thief are the best

thief is the fastest but mesmer has his card to play : group mobility with portal and mesmer offers more for bunkering and supporting than thief (its aoe heal can be really helpfull and also regen on shatter or moa) . For a team i think you need both … for roaming solo i prefer mesmer becouse it is more versatile .
