I hope I’m not the only one that will take a long break until they fix major things in PvP for season 2. You can have all my gold if I leave.

Major 1: Why do we even have a pip system? It’s horrible. You win one game, you win a pip, might be lucky and win 2. You lose one game, you lose one pip, you might even be unlucky and lose 2 pips. Why is my hardworking pip gone after a stupid loss? Why do we only get 1 pip per win, in average? If the matchmaking is working as intended, keeping players winratio at 50% consistently, then in theory you shouldn’t even gain a pip by the end of the day. Of course good people will wipe that off and have a nice 55-60%. But those who simply can’t carry braindead teammates, how in the world are they the same division as you, you wonder? Just for your information, I’m meeting the same 15 people every game, and it keeps switching about who’s getting the kitten. Sometimes I think we’re only 16 people playing pvp Been stuck in same tier for 2 weeks now.

Helseth as an example, today he lost idk how many stupid matches that should’ve been a win, but he kept getting the worst teammates, as the system expects him to carry. What the hell is dis?

FIX: Make it a point-ladder system, instead of pips (Gosh I hate that word now). In League of Legends per win, you get around 30 points, and when you lose, 20-23’ish. That’s 7 points earned over 2 games. Like this, nobody would freaking have to grind hours a day to get a single pip gain by the end of their playtime. Also make it the lower your MMR drops in your specific division, make it possible to go down from, example: Ruby to Sapphire. This is to prevent people from thinking “Ah yes! I can now finally just play ranked and screw others, cause I won’t get diamond anyways

That is one way to make the game healthy. Look at LoL, CSGO, Dota and SC2. You can lose your league, no matter how high up you are. This forces you to play consistently and do well. Not some coinflip abou which team is getting #1 kitten of the match.

Major 2: Does the report system work as intended? If so, then why isn’t cringe bingador (the correct name for those who knows, known to throw games) banned?

FIX:Wake up support, take action. Fix the report system already.

Major 3 Class balance is a joke, of course in every MMORPG you have classes that are way better than others, but you don’t have 4 classes simply just wiping everybody off with a simple keymash on the keyboard. I came to this game, seeing as it took skill and to know when you use your abilities, but I was wrong. The amount of CC spam you can chain on someone, then later burst him down within a second or two, is ridic.

FIX:As Colin said on his statement regarding ESL players aren’t influencing the devs balancement (as they call it) is so wrong. We have a very low playerbase in PvP, and not listening and taking advice to see what to nerf and what to buff is a stupid move. Valve listens to pro players, so does Riot. Why can’t Anet do this?

Major 4Why are the devs so quiet? Do they actually believe by being quiet is going to help the so-called “esports” to grow? They are good with marketing indeed, but the way they handle this game is absurd. Sure enough, the game is old. But do they work hard and want it to continue? Well, start waking up for season 2. I’m pretty sure that’s the end-line for many players, to take a huge break until they fix and stabilize the pvp.

That’s absolutely untrue. The amount of LP you win or lose in league is determined by how far is your MMR from your league.

Some people lose 20LP per lose and win 10, some win 30LP and lose 10.

I personally like the pip system. The problem is with certain specifics like mixing with MMR.

“Why is my hardworking pip gone after a stupid loss? "

Because not just anyone should make legendary. I believe that if your MMR places you in the 90th percentile you should win 90% of your games until you start facing players of similar skill, so your progression would settle in mid-high ruby and your win/loss ratio starts evening back out to 50% since you’re now consistently playing players of similar skill. You’d also get paired with players of similar MMR, but not necessarily have opponents in that range.

I think some form of seeding is great: in amber top MMR teams are pitted against low MMR teams at the start of the season until they catapult to higher leagues, so the algorithm would pair people of similar skill to a team, but not necessarily face a team of similar skill (so experts vs novices in lower divisions).

Also, ambers should lose pips too.

That is exactly why they shouldn’t have lost so many games to begin with. Its the same that applies to here. The fact that MMR did not reset with the league launch screws it up. Diamond players that plays like ambers cause they had low mmr, so reachin Diamond would be easier than someone with high mmr reaches Diamond.

The system is perfectly fine except for the fact that you can’t lose divisions.

Everyone makes it through amber, emerald, and even sapphire if you play enough.

Once you get to Ruby, you can’t rely on getting lucky any more and you actually need to win more than you lose in order to progress to diamond.

The problem is that….. since everyone can make it to ruby just by grinding long enough…. and ruby is the first division where not everyone can progress…. all the horrible players get trapped in ruby forever and ever and ever.

They can’t down rank back to sapphire no matter how many times they lose…. and they will never make it to diamond since they are not skilled enough for it…. so they rot in ruby all day long, due to a flaw in the system.

This not only causes a problem for those players…. since they will be losing a majority of their matches for being in a bracket that is too skilled…. but it also causes headaches for legitimately ruby skilled players wo keep getting matched with braindead teammates who don’t belong in ruby.

Can’t agree more on that… Really sucks almost getting out of Ruby as solo q just to hear a team mate doesn’t care about losing because he’s bottom of ruby and needs to “tank” MMR to progress…..

Ontop of the system forcing 50/50 w/l ratio, it’s rather tiring. It’s also annoying to see a bear rank finisher hit legendary then rub his “skills” in my face because he only just started doing PvP for rewards.

I mostly play for the new Free-For-All arena in PvP lobby.

“The system is perfectly fine except for the fact that you can’t lose divisions.”

If you’re good enough to make it to sapphire you’re good enough to make it to sapphire. If you weren’t good enough you wouldn’t be there unless you had some premade carry you. I think a better solution involves being able to lose pips or even tiers starting from amber, reinstate soloQ, and instead of mixing different MMR players onto a team they’re pulled from a similar rating pool, the lower the division the more drastic the matchups until the good players rank out of it (so Abjured would stomp on 30th percentile and below players since Abjured are so similar to each other in MMR if they all queued for SoloQ with this theoretical matchmaking method they’ll end up together anyway to breeze through the lower divisions) leaving casuals to only play each other eventually in that league and world class players only facing each other up in legendary.

As for TeamQ I think only allowing teams within 10% MMR of each other to prevent manipulation should be allowed.

I’ve resorted to taking a break as well and just enjoying WvW for now where Warriors aren’t a liability to their teams. I’ll be looking forward to see what balance comes in S2 especially after Anet’s repeated failure to deliver on their promises.

Why give a pass to S1? They did test seasons late last year and early this year:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/announcing-improvements-to-pvp-and-the-ladder-test-season/
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/test-your-mettle-in-the-second-player-vs-player-ladder-test-season/

This first season is based on those. We hated that system so Anet doubled down on it.

Those test seasons had many of the same problems the current season has. No reason to believe the next season will be much better.

I would change the system of pips by a score system. For instance, you earn 150 points per victory
- in tier 1 one doesn’t lose points if loses a match and complete the tier after X points
- in tier 2 one loses 50 points if loses
- in t3 one loses 100 points if loses
and so on

Well, I’m serious on passing my time back to CSGO if season 2 will be shet.
