SPvP Scoreboard: Will it ever improve?
However, among other issues, the scoreboard in SPvP is abysmal and always has been. I know, from the rest of the content, that A. Net can do better than this.
And how exactly would you measure someone kiting around 3 members of the enemy team off point and allowing the rest of your team to hold a triple cap?
Now I’m not defending the scoreboard, but you can never get a true representation of player contribution in this game unless you have 10 qualified spectators on every match watching each player.

An attempt should be made or at least discussed which is what the op is doing. Im for more stats/transparency whenever the choice exists.

And I’m trying to pose a certain scenario which appears to be near impossible to quantise into a score. The person running around kiting 3 members won’t be standing on point for any duration, won’t be dealing any significant damage, won’t be providing any form of party support in terms of healing and boons, won’t be resurrecting or finishing, yet is arguably contributing more to the team than any other member. How do you measure this?
And yes this is an extreme scenario, but there are often situations throughout matches where you can take advantage of being a squishy or low target by kiting your aggressors around the point while your on-point team-mates win the fight on the point.

If you serious about pvp you dont care about the scoreboard just the team end scores. I understand your complaint but i honestly dont think its a big deal.
Example is your tim duncan and im manu ginobli. Were the best players on our team, we know it the other players know it. We win the match and score the lowest points, does it matter?

Personally, I agree that its not a big deal but sometimes you want to see the tangible effect you have on a game and it would be nice to see certain things like, healing on others, healing done to self, damage done, etc. It helps me form a better opinion about the type of build I’m running to see its effectiveness.
I know some people don’t like seeing these numbers shown to everyone and I wouldn’t mind if the information was only shown to you. Stats don’t define the effect a person has on a game but it can be useful information to those seeking it.

You know that, of course, that is not usually the case. 99% of players don’t know one another, and the scoreboard as is eliminates opportunities to get noticed in solo queue. My first thought when I see 280+ is “How much did they stack cap?”
@Random Weird Guy
All true points you’re making, none of which I’d dispute. However, “It cannot be perfect” isn’t an excuse for it to be terrible.
Just remove the personal scoreboard. In a team based game, personal scores mean nothing anyway. All the personal scoreboard does is give people a reason to rage (sometimes unjustly) at people with less points.

I disagree because for alot of people its for fun. Like when i had a hotjoin and everyone on the map had over 200pts.( 8 vs 8 ) That was fun for anyone who thinks scores actually mean anything shows there noobness. So there no reason to listen to them.
I agree that it can help experiment build effectiveness to see numbers such as healing/damage done, etc. Also, if the board was at least minutely more effective at showing enemy/ally MMR, points captured, KDR, then there’s a good chance that players of equal strength can team up and play together, building more on the community side of things.
There at LEAST needs to be an MMR indicator and an ability to fluidly re-team up with people who are obviously more or of equal skill level.
The primary reason for improving the scoreboard is so you can socialize with players who seemed to perform well. I’ve had a few invites to form duo and trio queue teams after some good matches, but it rarely happens because there’s almost no meaningful record of who did or did not perform well.
